Lehan gets three-year, $4.95 million contract

The Dolphins, who cleared out nine players a week ago in Bill Parcells' first move to clean up the roster, made their first move in bringing back players by reaching a three-year deal with cornerback Michael Lehan

The three-year deal will pay him $2.1 million this year and is worth $4.95 million over the length of the contract. Though his role could be just as a third cornerback, Lehan has proven he's good enough to start.

I like this move and Lehan has proven he is good enough to start. Its always nice to have depth and that is how you truly build a team.

I like the signing....assuming that he will be a 3rd or 4th corner.

"good enough to start"?? for a 1-15 team, maybe....but not for what I'm hoping we're building.

Another thing I like about the signing is that it appears to be slightly front-loaded. We have the money for it, so we are ensuring that future salaries will not be an issue. Very smart.

Really? Im indifferent to him returning although I think that he still has some promise and I think that Bowles will really help him, but I think we paid a little too much for the guy. I mean nothing towards him, but this is a guy who should be making around 900,000 as a "possible" 3rd CB. He hasn't shown enough to me to warrant a 3 year deal that is almost 5 million.
