He might be a good fit and he is a solid corner with great hands just a thought what do you guys think?

This was posted earlier this week. I think the consensus was that he was in the Tampax 2 which does not play to his strength. If we signed him he would probably at least parallel Goody on ability and is a lot younger. Keep in mind that I believe he played for the Browns when Boles was an assistant there. Boles may be able to bring out the best in him seeing as what he did with that secondary by the end of the season.

It depends how much cash he's looking for. Being part of a 0-16 team must have lowered his asking price a bit.

The gut response to pickup up a player from a team which has just made history for ineptitude, is to say 'No way!' but I don't think they're cutting him because they think he's such a bad player, more because they feel they were paying him too much. Obviously that means he's not as good a player (for them) as they had initially imagined but it doesn't mean he's completely useless. As mentioned before, if he was playing in a system which didn't suit him, that could have been a big part of his dropoff.

He seems like a decent player in an awful system, I say we give him a try.

I think the problem is gonna be the price. He'll be one of the top FA corners after dunta and nhamdi get tagged...gonna make him pricey, but for the right price I'm all for it.

Actually, the consensus seems to be that Nnamdi won't be tagged. Tagging Scrabble would leave the Raiders with no money to sign anybody else at all, which would cripple the team. Even if they slapped the tag on him, they'd have to rescind it.

As for Bodden, he's an excellent man cover corner but awful in zone.

I may be wrong, but I think we play a lot of man so that would work out well

first if Nnamdi isnt tagged I am almost certain we will go for him and might not even take AS MUCH b/c 1) no income tax meaning he gets a lot of money, 2) wants to win 3) he gives a lot of money and support to the community and is a great person and I'm sure he would take maybe 5-8 mill less on his total contract when BP says we want more players u would help us out by doing that Im sure he wouldnt mind and 3) sparano has said numurous times he absolutely loves everything about him.

now as to bodden, he was a near shut down guy back in CLeveland, how he went from that to what he was in Detroit says one thing...bad system, bad team, dindt use him to his sternghts the same way our old regime didnt use Porter to his strenghts. I wouldnt mind bringing him in has good size.

Nam-dee ***-o-mwa. And we're so far under the cap we can afford both Nnamdi and Leigh.

last year we had less money and spent 25 mill on smiley, 14 on wilford or something 15, another 12 on torbor i think it was, 16 on what sparks? etc etc.

this year we should have about 8 mill more in cap space lets say and we can spend a good amount of money this year.

Leigh Bodden, in his last year in Cleveland, was called by Ocho Cinco the best cover corner he'd played against all year. Nnamdi Asomugha is the best cover corner in the game right now. Both are young and excellent. Sign those two and spend the rest of the money n the draft.
