Leinart picking up where he left off

Do you even watch college football? He is so over-rated. He will not be a good NFL QB.

By all means, please name a clear cut second.

I'd also like to point out that I've never said I wanted Leinart, in fact I do not, I'm just saying that this early in the season, I don't see a clear 2nd. If you do, I'll question if you watch college.

Vick is better...

Vick is nowhere close to Leinart, and I'm not even a Leinart fan.

Carson Palmer laid the wood to us last year didn't he?

:rofl3: , 21-38 147 yards and an int. do you watch many games?
palmer is not even the best QB on their team, and when they had to put him in instead of starting Kitna, their team took a step back. palmer and leinert were/are part of a system (the same as florida QBs) that put up big numbers against very poor opponents.

Umm...Cinci went 8-8 with Kitna in 2003 and 8-8 with Palmer in 2004..so how is that a step back? And Kitna isn't better than Palmer. Palmer was basically a rookie last year and still had a better QB rating than Kitna (77.3 to 75.9). And Palmer got even better in his last 5 games (97.3 rating).

Some of you noobs are horrible.

Vick is better dude. Better touch on the intermidate throws and a stronger arm. Better feet too... But I'll give you the fact has alot more game experience, but I thought we were talking upside...

If not, my bad...

Maybe he thought they would have a great chance to win another Championship....Maybe he wants to win the Heismann....Or maybe he wanted to have one more year to enjoy being the King on campus with all that super fine Southern California 1st class booty swarming around him!...I think those are some pretty good reasons to stay myself.

He already won the Heisman!

Did you watch Jacobs play? He puts up good numbers, and if you wanna wait a few seasons while his throwing motion is completely retooled, he's your guy, but c'mon Leinart has won like 25 games in a row, won the heisman, but still you're blinded by Jacobs numbers. Jacobs simply has the worst throwing motion in college football, and I don't think it'll work in the pro's, I would rather have Vince Young than Jacobs, but still Leinart is in a category by himself.

Yep, but it better than Rivers  , and yes I've seen him play  . Like I have previously stated, numbers mean nothing. Bottomline Jacobs tools are great IMO, faster release, stronger arm (no contest), more athelitic (again no contest), excellent field vision but he should throw the ball away better once the play breaks down, which is alot since BG's OL sucks. This leads to sacks, he's no Vick but moves nice in the pocket. He's got to protect the ball better when he runs (but hey no one is prefect). He's a one man show at Bowling Green, I just can't see Leinart being able to do that at Bowling Green. Oh ya winning the heisman does not mean that you are the best player, in general that means your team is winning. Some people will question if he's the best on his team. USC's Bush maybe the best player in the nation period and Peterson had a better year last year but Matt's team is better. Bottomline winning the heisman does'nt mean that you will be any good in the NFL, name the last two heisman QB's and ask yourself are they any good :rofl3:

Oh ya Man I wish Jacobs played on a good team, Bowling Green sucks  , but Jacobs skills will keep the games close, but in the end, Bowling Green sucks :shakeno:

Agreed!! Why would he want to come out when he can have all that! Yes..the money is always good...but being on top of the world..and having fun is even better. Lets face it..he wouldnt be having fun in San Fran.

I don't understand what college life offers that NFL life doesnt, except maybe less pressure. Its not like there is a shortage of available women or parties in the NFL life. Plus he'd have about 20mill+ in the bank account. He is a decent guy but I want someone that has dreamed of being in the NFL and wants to go after the opportunity, he should have come out, he must have been warned off from Carroll about SF or something because I dont see what college has to offer the guy anymore.

TRUE DOLPHIN FAN ROOTING FOR USC (NOT PETE CARROL).

IT CAN BE DONE!

I suppose you can root for a team while hating the head coach....after all, we all loved our Dolphins even when Wannabe was the head coach .

Still, every time I see Carroll I have flashbacks of the "choke"

If you truly watch hime play, as an individual, he is not that good. He admitted himself after last years NC game that he and his teammates couldn't believe he was actually throwing tight spirals :shakeno: . I'd love to see him on any other team without that dominant Oline, Reggie Bush, above average WRs, and a system that makes him look good.

Numbers and systems aside. Omar Jacobs is a much better pro prospect. MUCH better arm, quicker delivery, and MUCH more mobile.
