Let me start out by saying, I don't think we should have even been that close in that game today. The Texans outplayed us in every aspect of the game today, offense, defense, and special teams. We didn't look anything like we did against either the Pats or Chargers. We had a chance today up 14-3 to really put the Texans away early and we allowed them to hang around to long.

1. I think we need to start out by putting Ginn at both kick and punt returns. I know everyone else thinks this as well, Bess gives us no chance at all to even give a serious threat of taking one back. Ginn's first year returning kicks started out kinda slow but he finally got a hang of it. I think this one thing alone could really help this team out and even make a difference in some of these close games.

2. Secondary! This secondary has 2 players, Will Allen and Yeremiah Bell. I have no idea why Allen wasn't shadowing Johnson today, and I know some of you are blaming Bell for that catch at the end of the game that Johnson made, but come on, the catch was incredible, give props to Johnson. He couldn't have been covered any better. We're getting good pressure on the QB so I would think that this secondary as a whole would be playing better but their not. They played outstanding against the Chargers, but they have to be more consistent. Asante Samuel would sure make a difference at this point.

3. Throw the ball some more. We're too predictable on offense, we're running the ball pretty good this year but we need to change it up a little bit. Open it up with some no huddle offense, we"ve done it a couple of times this year and we've drove down the field each time I've seen it. Pennington is smart enough and has been around long enough to handle it. We don't need it all the time but I think we can throw some defenses off by throwing it in every once in a while. Spread the ball out and try to spread it down the field veritcally. We need to get Ginn up a seem and at least give the opposing team the thought that at any team we can pop one up a seem for a big one. This would open up the 10-15yd passing game up a bit with Fasano and Camarillo.

4. Finally, Coaching. I like what Sparano is doing overall, but theres just those few mistakes each game that make a big difference. Today, we should have been running the ball and making Houston use their timeouts and even running the clock down to 30 seconds and kicking the field goal. Get it down to 3rd down and then try to pick up the 1st down. I don't care what you have to do but make sure you tell Brown, hey if you break that run get down at the 1 so we can use this clock. The Texans continued to move the ball down the field, and the last thing we needed was for them to have the ball last with almost 2 minutes on the clock. I know it's easy to say this now because we lost but thats the first thing I
thought when we scored that early, I knew it was way too much time and that Houston had a great shot at still getting that game in the end.

This team is much improved, and much more enjoyable to watch compared to last year. Last year I knew we had no shot any game we walked into but now I really believe we have a good shot. I know it's not going to get turned around overnight but I still believe we could be better even right now with the team we have. Eliminate a few mistakes against the Jets, and a couple of incredible plays go our way today and we could possibly be 4-1. I liked today how we stuck in there and didn't quit even after it looked like the Texans we're going to score and we hung in there and forced some turnovers.

Good Post, I agree. The team is much more fun to watch this year. I also didn't feel great about the game today and know we would have been sneaking out of there had we pulled it off. So close though as there were 3 plays on that last drive that could have been back breakers for houston, we just didn't make them.

I can honestly say we played a good game and made a ton of plays, especially big plays that put us in a position to win. We just didn't make the one play that we needed to.

great post, but I'm skeptical on one thing. Do you put the game winning field goal in your rookie kickers leg?? Hes been good but why put that pressure on him. Take the points when you can. 4th and 10 and 4th and 2. We had two chances to stop them, but we didn't. If you go to nfl.com where it shows the highlights watch schaubs td run...WHy wasn't there a Linebacker??
