DAVIE · Dolphins quarterback Cleo Lemon, who backed up Joey Harrington for the New England game, is literally one play away from being in his first regular-season game, but he hasn't changed his preparation.

"You prepare as if you're going to play anyway," said Lemon, who was designated as the No. 3 quarterback last year. "There is just a greater sense of urgency."

In four preseasons, Lemon has thrown for 1,264 yards (113 of 174) with six touchdowns and three interceptions. He started the final preseason game against St. Louis and threw for 271 yards (21 of 27) with a TD.

I hope we don't need him. And its not because I don't want him. If we don't need him, we are doing well.

Right there...

Right under our noses is the answer, Lemon, a mobile qb with legs(the ones that use to have DC) and a better arm than JH, what are we waiting to pull the trigger. GO DOLPHINS!! :dolphins:

i honestly would rather see lemon than harrington. lemons got a lot of upside

Well..

OMG

Has it really gotten this bad?

The record!! 1-4(almost 1/3 of the season)
QB TD-INT ratio 2-5
Passing yard in the leage 24th and don't go into rushing in the leage.
You tell me how bad it is? GO DOLPHINS!! :dolphins:

Hey Id like to see Lemon play, but hopefully its because were winning in a blowout and he gets some garbage time

I love these answers.

Based on exactly what do you make that assessment?

I hope your not going to go with the 2 years worth of mop up time he's seen at the end of preseason games.

How about citing how a guy with so much potential gets cut from a QB starved team like the Ravens his first year before the preseason even ended.

Maybe it was that he actually got deomted to the practice squad QB in his time in NFL Europe.

Better yet maybe it was his 49% completion percentage during his college career.

The guy has shown nothing that should make any of you HOPE he has to take over the reigns of this team.

Trekbix, so you are saying that the only thing matters is stat? What has Joey done that makes him so much better? Losing is losing just because you are a high draft pick doesn't mean you are a good NFL player. It means you were a good college player.

Ok, great you've given one weak reason you think Harrington isn't good.

Now let's hear a few good reasons why you feel a guy who's never taken a regular season snap and who's never played against starters in a preseason contest is worthy of a starting job right now.

The same arguments could easily have been used as an excuse to keep Matt Hasselbeck behind Trent Dilfer for the remainder of their careers.
