It's cracks me up.All of a sudden there r tons of John BEck lvoers in here, when half of you never knew who he was before saturday.Before u go ahead and give Beck the starting job in '08 dont forget that cam happens to love Cleo Lemon.If they didnt care for him or have serious interest in him then they would of not tendered a 2nd rd offer for him this offseason.Think way back to the Christmas night game vs the jets and tell me what qb got us all the points.He led us on all our scoring drives and made some great passes as well.He ended up going 11-16 with 104 yds with 1 td pass that nite.Fast forward to the indy game ,right before halftime he made 1 bad throw.Thats ok cause most qbs make bad throws every now and then .Stuff happens, get over it.If it wasnt for saban conseravtive play calling that day around the endzone we might have seen more from him but in the end lemon had a decent game finishing up 18-36 with 210 yds and 1 td pass again.Also lets not forget he has great ability to get out of the pocket and run.A few times in that game freeney almost got him and yet he eluded him with good footwork.All im saying is dont forget Cleo he could become our Tony Romo in '07.

I was just going to say the same thing...I think Cleo showed he can be a #2 qb with the oppurtunities he was given...But I think you and everyone else should hope for the Dolphins sake that John Beck is a better QB than Cleo...And everything I have seen from Beck thus far excites me and I cant wait to see him play....

That's what your post does to me :sidelol:. Yeah, I'll be honest and say I didn't know who Beck was until like a month ago. However, I think he can easily fit into Cam's offensive system. Just leave it up to training camp and see what happens.
 
It doesn matter because Trent Green will be the starter this year and Beck will be his apprentice on the sideline. Cleo is a good QB but he isnt starting material. We will see next year if Beck can be the starting QB after one year learning the system. As for now you dont know squat about Beck either so how can you say hes better than Cleo??? Nice buddy real nice.
 
Cameron must love Cleo because picking Beck imo was a ringing endorsement of Cleo. I admit that I don't have the same info as cameron and his decision to not take Quinn, but other people in the profession do and so far the vast majority that I have read said Cameron's draft was dog @@@@!
As for Cleo, he could be something special but nobody knows and for them to suggert otherwise is pure speculation. He simply wasn't given enough of a chance to play.
 
I just listen to him talk and I like him. If you cant see leadership in the way he talks, then, well, I guess you never will....

Anyways. I see a kid who is smart and humble and fits the mold of what Cameron is doing. The more I think about him, and compare him to Brady Quinn, the more I think Beck becomes the real Joe Montana.

I think Becks accuracy is well documented by now so....I think this was the driving wedge in the decision.
 
i saw beck play on the verus channel.There conference is always on there..like one scout was quoted as saying " his stats r aganist a lot of nobodys, very bloated stats "..i seen him play im not impressed...dont be upset beck lvoers when cleo beats him out...watch and see..if u can sit there and annoint beck as the " franchise qb " of the future how the hell do u know if lemon wont beat him out...and whoever thinks beck is gonna be # 2 this year has got to be kidding..give lemon a chance u never know what u have til u see him play...based on 3 games u cant judge some 1...

r u kidding me ?? comparing beck to montana ??? 1st of all we all know amrion was the best qb to ever play the game..how can u call yourself a true phin fan !!!!! r u nuts ??? maybe if dan had a great defense like the niners..maybe if he had a decent rb like roger craig to help once in a while..ring or no ring dan was the best ever...plain and simple..
 
People who say Cleo isn't starting material kill me. You base this on what? Exactly. You guys all stink at your jobs too, and should be replaced. I am basing this on exactly what you are basing your uninformed decisions on....nothing. Cleo has shown flashes of being a starting QB for our team in the VERY LIMITED chances he has been given. I also agree however, you can't say who is, or will be better, Lemon or Beck. That is what competition is about. Right now, Cleo has a big advantage, because he knows Cams offense.
 
I think he started this thread to pitch the VIP membership. You won't see any of this garbage there and he knows it. Great pitch UGA!

Most of the people on this thread that have responded to you haven't stated that he's going to be the 2nd string QB, but rather he will learn behind Green. As a matter of fact the majority of people are complementing Lemon for being a very nice backup. Is Beck our future? I can't answer that nor can you. The one thing I can say about Beck is that he has a great package of skills and he appears to be a great leader, but once again appearances can be deceiving. In regards to Lemon, I really like him and as everything stands right now he will still be given every opportunity to be the future of the franchise and if he earns it he earns it. Eitherway you need to relax and enjoy the fact that the organization is trying to upgrade that position as a whole and will use high draft picks to do it.

the absolute worst spelling of a hall of famer in the history of sports...

Dan Marino was the best passer to ever play the game.... not the best overall quarterback... take off the homer glasses...
