Love this kid for some reason. I'm going to keep my eye on him in the Senior Bowl. Unless he flies up draft boards, he should be there at 32. Think the Fins have interest?

I think that after D-Line at #1 (hopefully), we have to find a corner at 32 if we don't trade out of the 1st pick. We probably wouldn't utilize his return skills, but he has good speed. Not prototypical size (Talib is really the only corner with perfect size this year and his speed is lacking), but a good combination of speed and size. The last couple of defensive players out of Troy in the early rounds have turned out really well

nfldraftcountdown.com actually has him as the #2 corner, but I doubt he's the second taken. I doubt he'd be taken over Talib. I really think that if he do go corner in this spot, that Malcolm Jenkins' decision to return to school really hurts us.

Either way, should be some great talent there. Anyone else really like McKelvin? I didn't see any threads about him.

I think he'll probably go higher than 32. He's fast, he's quick, he gears down and back up again well, he's aggressive and Bill and Jeff mined Troy very succesfully for DeMarcus Ware, so they'll know all about him. He'll test very well and he's a tremendous special teamer as well.

Boomer, if he goes before 32, does that most likely leave Talib available at 32, or would we be reaching for someone like Cason or Rodgers-Cromartie if CB is the pick?

Anyone else in there that I'm missing? No way Mike Jenkins is available at 32, unfortunately.

I like McKelvin but I think his return skills are going to be what causes a team to draft him over a corner who may be equal or around him at corner. I think that Talib and Jenkins will be gone before 20 and McKelvin, Smith, Flowers will possibly be available at 32 but gone by 56

I think boomer said talib is a cover guy and woudlnt interest miami due to that.

Talib is a pure cover 2 corner. When the play is in front of him, great. But turn and run in man coverage? Uh uh. No way.

Cason is probably better suited to cover 2, but I think he can play press. There's a pretty big group of CB's vying for that mid to late 1, early 2 area; Reggie Smith, DRC, McKelvin, Tribble, Thomas, Ikegwuono, Porter, Godfrey, Lee, Justin King, etc.

Boomer,

why does everybody think we need to spend a day 1 pick on a corner?

I put CB wayy down on our list of needs:

1. TE

2. DL

3. WR

4. QB

5. OL

6. LB

7. CB

Because other than Will Allen, none of our corners are starting material.

I like Lehman and Goodman alot better than I do our TE's, pass rushers, MLB, RT, NT, WR's, QB's, WLB

we went 1-15, who is starting material?

In our secondary, Will Allen, Jason Allen, and Yeremiah Bell (when he is not injured).

I like Lehan and Goodman too. But unfortunately, they are more suited as Nickel or dime backs, and Jason Allen is the only person in our whole secondary who can cover Randy Moss without getting embarrassed.

I like the Giants model, draft pass rushers until the cows come home

We have Will Allen and a bunch of guys.

And tight end isn't our #1 need. Did you see our run defense?

Are these the same Giants that spend two of their last three top picks on defensive backs and have drafted at least one DB in their last five drafts?
