Any chance on this kid being a D Jordon type bust? I feel bad wishing negative energy on the kid but we will have to face him twice a season with a terrible Oline that has not been addressed at all yet.

Williams is an excellent prospect, but the Jets three best players are Wilkerson, Richardson, and Williams. I don't see any of them as NT's, so I'm curious to see how/if they all play on base downs. Think the Jets should have drafted Beasley or Dupree - assuming Gregory's character issues are pretty troubling at this point.

Rev is our best player and don't forget we have the highly underrated Damon Harrison as our NT. I

Not much chance. Seems legit. Patriots O-linemen and Brady must be crapping themselves at the prospect of meeting some of the league's top D-linemen in every single division game they have. The array of talent at DT/DE is ridiculous in the AFCE and Williams is just another stud to add to it. Not to mention the Pats added one of their own - it's like the arms race in the 80s at the moment.

Well then........Plan B. The Jets ALWAYS find a way to screw it up!!

I like the Jets went BPA...also means they can move on from Wilkerson if they need to...Williams was my top guy this year.

i dont think a chance as a bust at all.... i really think he is all pro caliber, and now add him to possibly the best D-Line in the NFL.... they just got better there!!!

We all know that the jets have the best QB corp in the AFC East.

We had a QB who has had actual success in this league, the only one besides Brady in the division. He and the other guy played awful while your QB led you to missing the playoffs again. Congrats though on his fantasy # improvement.

Williams is the opposite of Dion Jordan. He's a very smart instinctive player with great sustained college production.

Very unlikely to bust but I wouldn't be surprised if he's a moderately good to very good NFL player who never approaches superstar status. He simply lacks the awesome athletic ability and disruptive capabilities of Suh or Sapp, for example. Many of his sacks are after middling push after the snap, then he senses the vulnerability of the pocket and uses his great hand strength and instincts to toss the guard aside and throw himself at the quarterback, essentially using the thrust off the guard to create a sack he didn't fully deserve. That's not going to unfold as dependably in the NFL. I agree with Riddick on ESPN last night, that Williams probably won't be dependable as an NFL pass rusher. Over time I think he'll be good against the run but might be viewed as a slight disappointment considering his draft status and college hype.

ESPN blew it on this pick, BTW. I forgot to mention that last night in my rundown of how ESPN and NFL Network fared in the first round coverage. ESPN had all the time in the world because they were commercial free for the first hour. But they were so fixated on the Jets' positional needs that they got preoccupied with Kevin White or the edge rushers. I was going nuts. Leonard Williams was sitting there yet they weren't mentioning him at all, despite a new head coach with defensive emphasis. NFL Network came back after a lengthy commercial break and was much more astute within a limited window. David Shaw said he couldn't imagine Williams not being the pick. The league has a long history of fortifying strength with strength.

^ ^ I think Williams success will be magnified by the talent around him on the d-line, rather than if he went to a team where he was the only guy. He'll be coming into a situation where he's, at best, the 3rd guy. That's a pretty good situation from which to succeed from given when he's onfield the offence will have headaches trying to control Wilkerson and Richardson.

You really should have just ignored the trolling. Defending Smith or Sanchez is a fools errand.

Jets will have one of the, if not the, best defense in the NFL. I'm kind of scared.
