Les Brown the most pathetic blocker of all time.

I think we should sign his wife to the cheerleading squad...see happy ending for the Brown family after all.

I think HBO is trying to over glorify his struggles. Maybe he doesn't make the team, or maybe he becomes the star of Hard Knocks as he improves and does make it. He's obviously a really RAW prospect, but I find it hard to believe from the moment he came on the field he's been getting run over like Rudy or something - This show is still searching for some drama. Brown will be fine. Agreed that he's a guy who sticks around on the practice squad.

So you think HBO paid the coach to say that he was a "complete liability in pass protection and run blocking"? GET REAL.

Of course its all edited and they went out of their way to show him failing badly to block several times in a row. Im sure there may have been an occasion or two in which he was able to almost look like he was capable of blocking. But, the coach isnt just going to say that the guy is a total liability in pass protection and run blocking for no reason. Its obvious he cant block at all right now and is a complete project.

I also dont see why everyone thinks he will make the PS. Seems more logical to me the coaches may think its hopeless that he will ever be able to block anyone. You cant ever contribute in the league at the TE position without the ability to block at least a little bit. A total liability that the team has nothing invested in will never see the field. If he continues to be a total liability, there is no reason to think that there are hopes he will be able to block in the future and that its worth investing the time in such a project.

They took a flyer on the guy because he's a PROJECT.

This isn't the move that is going to save the franchise from the complete pile of garbage it has become.

It's a feel good story that HBO wants to over dramatize - So they're going to make him into the cinderella of the camp. Make him look like he doesn't belong and when he survives through to the end he'll be the unsung hero.

He blocks like he hasn't played football since high school.

I really was surprised that he was white. LOL. I would also take his lady over LT. I hope he pans out. Seems to give a **** and that is more than can be said about a few over talented folks we saw tonight.

it is not like he has been a football player. Or a TE. Blocking from a down OL set is HARD. It takes years of training, most coaches believe that it takes longer to "make" a OL because of that. IMO, down blocking from the TE position is even harder. At least as a inside OL your targets are set in a down stand right over you. As a TE you are trying to block the best athlete on the defense. On a NFL team. everyone expects he will take a couple of years.

How many of us think we could of down better on our best day.

Looked more like a WR size to me....

He really did look like a big WR. Maybe slim him down to 235. 6'4, 235 with 4.3 speed and a 10'6 broad jump? 37 inch vertical?

Sounds incredible to me

Didn't he play WR in high school anyway?

Doesn't help that his ankle is aggravated again.

But I think a Hard Knocks lynching is good because that'll scare some other teams away from snatching him off our PS.

Nice story, NOT a football player. Will be one of the first guys cut

Les Brown: good story now, TREMENDOUS story if he can learn leverage and staying on his feet. I don't give him much chance of sticking if he doesn't get it together quickly. That's what college football is for, honing that skill that he seems to be lacking during the first episode.

on the ground too much...can't carry him on the 53 if thats the case...p squad...can't see how he helps anyone this year...needs to flash serious upside to make the p squad i'd say...determination looks good though...but that can only take you so far at this level...kids a liability as the coach said right now...gonna have to show marked improvement in line to stick...way too much on his back
