Move Carey Back to RT
Let whomever play RG
Pouncey at Center
Incog at LG
Long at LT

Problem Solved

Carey is a horrible RG but at worst he is still an average RT and even saying that he is still 10 times better then anything we have now or will be able to sneak on this team to play RT.

I rather deal with only 1 really bad OL at RG then have to deal with 2 of them RG and RT.

This OL doesnt need to be spectacular for us to make a run they just need to be ok to good.

A line of
Long - Excellent
Incongnito - Average
Pouncey -Very Good
Whomever - Blah
Carey - Average

is our only hope.

It depends on just how bad Carey is right now, by some accounts he wouldn't be of much use as a right tackle either. That is the obvious solution though.

How happy is Carey gonna be taking a pay cut to move to guard, only to be moved back to tackle? Don't you think that was part of the sales job to get him to take the cut?
 
I think Garner is better at RG or RT than what we have there. If Carey can still play half decent at RT then move him back and put Garner in the starting lineup.

Better yet Chubbs...If we can get Gurode:

Long - Pouncey - Gurode - Incognito - Carey (Murtha)

I like that a lot better.

The guy wasnt horrible last year just wasnt Probowl quality we all remember him being. At worst he will be average at RT, no way he sucks at RT the way everyone is thinking. :)

Thats not bad either, just hate the $5.5M price tag. I really want to use every penny of our remaining cap to resigning Soliai and a few others.
 
I'm losing track on all these OLine discussion threads today. =)

I'm not sure the best answer is on our team yet. IF Carey can still play a decent RT, I'm for it...but I do question whether he can or not.
 
We can resign Solai and increase our cap space, but that isn't happening. They won't Paul to do it twice. Hopefully I'm wrong. I think they can fit Gurode in under 5 mil and he would instantly help this line if his knee is good.

So is his name "Whomever" or "Whoever"? I'm confused. And tell me, what's his lower body strength and flexibility like? What's he like getting to the second level? Does he have the awareness to pass guys off inside on twists and blitzes?

I'm excited about this new option. Sounds like a keeper. :D

I wasn't talking about last year Chubbs...by some accounts Carey looks awful this year compared to last, I'm not sure he would be as good as he was last year.

Carey is only making $2.5 this year so it won't free up that much. He'll become a free agent when the season ends after the Dolphins voided the final three years of Carey's contract.
 
why in haitis would you want to keep incog at left guard...move him to right guard...careys feet and lateral agility look terrible inside...i'm hard pressed to think they're gonna look much better at tackle but yeah thats where i'd be moving him to see how he looks...this guard experiment needs to come to a swift and permanent end
 
ONLY...lol

I wasn't claiming him alone freed up enough, to get a guy like Gurode, but a good chunk.
