The only position he is comfortable playing is behind Reynaldo Hill, the only guy that hasn't been beat this year? If this is true this is clearly a mistake by saban.

Polamalu did play and have an impact his first year on blitzes and STs. He got better throughout his rookie year so JAllen does have a chance to catch up. But Polamalu definitely showed something as a rookie something Allen has yet to do.tcdrover said:Polamalou didn't start his first year for the Steelers and look how he turned out.
Not every safety starts out playing like Sean Taylor or Roy Williams....

Mr. Reality said:We need to not obsess with Jason Allen. As bad as our secondary is if our coaching staff is too pigheaded to put him in he must really suck.
Louis Oliver said:We are all frustrated by not seeing immediate dividends from Jason Allen.
Saban wants to let Allen focus on 1 position which is the position Renaldo Hill plays. Renaldo Hill hasn't played bad, so Saban doesn't just want to bench him because it wouldn't be fair to Hill.
Where does it say this? By drafting BPA sometimes you get a player that is behind a solid vet. Guys that are taken in the first round and expected to step in right away are usually drafted as needed, not BPA. Think about it.SCall13 said:Guys are taken in the FIRST ROUND because it is anticipated -NO, expected - that they will be able to step in and play right away.
He's stuck behind Hill, who from all accounts is NOT garbage. Where's the beef?We passed on some very good players to get a guy who can't beat out our garbage.
