What do you think about this? Since Culpeper is healling, Green is determied to play in Miami, and Beck is going to be your future, this puts Lemon the last man out, and he does not stand a chance ever starting here.

Honestly Culpeper will be in our next camp, and should get a chance to start, and not just thrown out like garbage. Green I would like to see compete for the start, but I would like him as a back up. And as I already said Beck is Miami's future, but I do think he needs to be mentored, and sit for atleast a year.

With Lemon just getting a new contract do you think we can get any value for trading him, he did play well for us last year?

OK, you don't want to throw out CP like garbage but it's OK to throw Lemon out like garbage? Seriously, Cam should let them all compete, (CP, Lemon, Green, Hamdan, and Beck) and then make his evaluation.

I'll trust his judgment as to whose ready to play.

GO PHINS~!

When will you ever learn?? How thick is it??? It's money man. Culpepper is a 6 mil guy. Lemon is a 1.3 guy. Culpepper has to go. Why do you guys just refuse to acknowledge the business aspect of this game. Stop It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cleo actually has been in Cam's offense before and understands it better right now than Pep and Beck, so I can't see him being odd man out. Besides, he was tenured a 2nd rounder and drew absolutely no intrest, so I don't see much of a market for him. JMO

that just might be what cam is doing...

god people and this miconception that offenses are sooo far apart.

Culpepper and every qb on the team last year knew the offense just as well as Cleo. Do yu think for some odd reason that the plays are different? No. They arent. Every teamhas the SAME PLAYS in their playbook, the difference is they have different names and calls and play selection. That is all.. ame thing with this green stuff, grats green played in a "System" years ago who says it is exactly the same as it was then? any player can learn another *system* aka play style and calls, not different plays.

I think you didn't give it to much thought. If Green comes in, CPEP is gone. If Green doesn't come in, it's because they feel CPEP's going to be 100% & have given up on trying to acquire Green. There's no way they keep both, and you already know why - $$$ MONEY $$$. No way they bring Green in & pay him what he's going to get & pay CPEP what he's due to make (especially, as a back up). And why would they try & keep CPEP when most likely Beck will replace Green next year? We don't. Make sense?

Also, CPEP will get us quite a bit more in trade value, then Cleo anyway. If he's still hobbling though, who know if he'll get us anything at all?!?!?

Green has negotiated a pay-as-you-play contract...in other words, he'll get backup pay if he is the backup and with incentives will make starters wages (the same type of contract Frerotte had...where we ended up paying him over $6 M for the putrid year he had for us). So, if Cpep starts and Green is kept, he'll make backup wages...that all said, I doubt they end up keeping both. Unless Cpep sets the world on fire IF he ever gets healthy enough to play, then Green IF he's actually ever traded for should be the starter until Beck is ready...

NIKEAIR...the offenses from team to team are different. While the base offense that Cam uses is the same as what Linehan had here (and that Turner actually installed here) the keys and reads are different and of course, what sets all offenses apart is the play calling and the timing of that play calling. You just can't lump all offenses together as one...that just isn't true...The nuances and line calls are different for every team and a QB, whoever he is, has to learn those things before he can be very successful on a new team. There is an adjustment period, even for the more experienced QBs who change teams...

IMHO I believe Green & the fins know that if he comes in, he's starting. The Fins may not have said it, but I'm sure he's made it clear that he still wants & expects to start ( why his contracts w/us would look like it does). And I think the minute Greens signed, PEP will be shopped. They're trying to acquire him because there's doubts about CPEP. And as you said, paying Green (a healthy proven QB) & keeping CPEP (who's not 100% & will cost so much more) I don't thinks the plan. I could be wrong though?

Anyone remember this line from: Absense of Malice 1981?

Couldn't resist it Elliot!

James A. Wells, Assistant U.S. Attorney General: Tell you what we're gonna do. We're gonna sit right here and talk about it. Now if you get tired of talking here, Mr. Marshal Elving Patrick there will hand you one of them supeenis (subpoenas) he's got stuck down in his pocket and we'll go downstairs and talk in front of the grand jury... Elliot? Jim?... Fine. All right, Elving, hand whichever one of these fellas you like a supeeni (subpoena) and we'll go on downstairs and talk in front of the grand jury.
District Attorney James A. Quinn: Gallagher's a government witness.
James A. Wells, Assistant U.S. Attorney General: Wonderful thing, a supeeni (subpoena).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
James A. Wells, Assistant U.S. Attorney General: You had a leak? You call what's goin' on around here a leak? Boy, the last time there was a leak like this, Noah built hisself a boat.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
James A. Wells, Assistant U.S. Attorney General: Now we'll talk all day if you want to. But, come sundown, there's gonna be two things true that ain't true now. One is that the United States Department of Justice is goin' to know what in the good Christ - e'scuse me, Angie - is goin' on around here. And the other's I'm gonna have somebody's a$$ in muh briefcase.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
James A. Wells, Assistant U.S. Attorney General: What'd you figure you'd do after government service, Elliott?
Elliott Rosen: I'm not quitting.
James A. Wells, Assistant U.S. Attorney General: You ain't no Presidential appointee, Elliott. One that hired you is me. You got thirty days.

We would only be saving 1 mill from the cap if we cut Daunte. 5 mill of his salray would still count against the cap. Cutting him for money purposes is just stupid.

This is the most ridiculous rebuttle i've ever read. Because Cpep is 5 mil more he should be the one to go? Thats insane. The man is a pro bowler... if he comes back to form, i'd much rather cut a Cleo Lemon who has done nothing in his career than a CPEP who was once a candidate for league MVP. Why wont ppl understand that Cleo Lemon is just Cleo Lemon. He had his chance, he did decent. Which is what we all expected. The guy will be a backup for the rest of his life.

Bottom line, you dont automatically cut a guy just because he's making 5 mil more than another. Think of it this way: CPEP obviously did something in order to earn that 6 mil a year.

I know im going to get bashed for this, but someone earlier said that all plays are the same, well guess what , u probably never played a down in football, but there is alot of different offenses and yes i would rather have a QB that knows my offense.Guys and girls im not so sure that C-pepper is gonna be alright this year.He had a severe injury and he did it damage more by trying to come bac last season. We do not want to get ride of Cleo, i think he played as well as anyone we had last year.I do think we have a better chance og getting in hte playoffs with Greene than C-pepper.
