There are alot of playoff threads being posted but if we don't beat Jax and N.E. there is going to be an awful lot of disappointment around here. I just hope everyone realizes that the important thing is to build some consistency this year so that we dont have to start off next year 1-6. So that we dont have to hope for other teams to lose. So that we don't have to win 9 games straight in order to get in to the playoffs. So that we can win our division and be legitimate contendors instead of having to wish on a wing and a prayer that we make the playoffs.

We still have holes to fill, we still are not where we want to be. It would certainly be great to make the playoffs and I am hoping it happens as well but everyone should keep in mind that in the bigger picture it doesn't really mean that much. See Pittsburgh for a perfect example.

Dont make yourselves victims of the same hype the media created in the offseason that led to a frenzy of disappointment at the beginning of this season. There is nothing wrong with hoping to make the playoffs but we really need to keep a level head about this so that if we do lose a game down the road we dont become victims of our own hype. Recognize the team for what it is, where it's come from and where it's going and be aware that we are making strides. The future of this team does not depend on us making the playoffs this year.

One game at a time, we can only worry about what we do, let's concentrate on winning all our games (1 at a time) and let the chips fall where they may!

no offense to the other threads but...

FINALLY! SOMEONE WHO KNOWS AND UNDERSTANDS!

thank you finaly someone makes a thread who dosen't think its a walk in the park. i

While I am optimistic they can run the table I just want to say that it generally takes 3 years to clean up after a bad regime, so I really always felt next year is going to be the year, even though I was tempted to but into all the hype this year. Saban has been strategically targeting for next year. He has cut dead weight (Fletcher,Moore,Madison) and freed up cap space, Miami is going to be almost 25 million under the cap next year and there will be good quality free agents out there and another stellar draft and they will be going in the right direction. I still can't believe we missed on Brees twice, once with Wanny taking Fletcher over him and then last year but oh well, lets just hope Daunte gets back to 90% or better. We need some linemen on both sides of the ball and another receiver. Have patience, Saban will get us where we need to go.
