Wow just about every thread I read is lets cut this player, lets cut that player and after a whole 2 games. How about the Chargers let go of Cromartie and Jammer and the Cowboys get rid of their starting secondary, or how about the Bengles cut Ocho Cinco and Whosyourmama, How about the Seahags cut Hasslebeck and the Jags cut Gerrard and Jones Drew since they havent shown up to the party yet......NOT!! I am sure their fans are calling for it after they got torched....NOT. I mean come on lets cut Pennignton, Trade Ronnie, Jake Long is a bust and a lets cut just about every name in the secondary threads are rediculous. How about lets just see how theese players develop in another new system with another new coach in each of the past cosecutive 3 years. I think some folks were drinking the preseason cool-aid and forgot that we have regressed each of the past 5 seasons leading to a 1-15 turnout last year. We are who we are and I am sure we will get better but we are not a playoff team in one off season. Lets look at the positives. First Henne looks fantastic, he looks like a pro-bowler compared to all of Becks starts last year and this early in his career. Jake Long is adjusting well and it was a great pick by this head office (we could have had the other long instead and avoided addressing the largest hole on the team like past administrations ala Wanstash). Langford and Merling look very promising based off of playing time not just because we picked um (some folks think every player we pick is great even before they play). I would mention Donald Thomas but since he only showed for one game it's a little early and he may be injury prone. We picked up a couple of linebackers who fill the gap well and our Tight ends are actually contributing. How that translates into wins this season I dont know but that is quite a bit of improvement for one off season and we have a couple more to go with this front office. So before we cut anyone lets find a replacement because we cant show up with 22 players dressed for the game. Lets suppopt who is on the field because it wont change until next season.

can you explain why we did not upgrade the secondary? this is my only question.

Because that is not Parcells MO when rebuilding.. There is a plan here... This first draft was dedicated to offensive and defensive line, next year I am confident we will draft secondary and wide reciever, year 3, maybe linebacker... He built up the front lines, and will fan out from there..

We all knew this when he came here how the rebuild would be done

Well said man. I haven't been on here as of late because i knew that's all i would see. Not to mention the "we shouldn't of traded Chambers," and "we should have kept welker" threads. I want to see us win just as much as the next guy, but you're right it's gonna take some time.

It's a fair question. I guess they thought our secondary was good enough to get through the year with, so they could concentrate on the lines first. There were a lot of people here (I being one) who thought our secondary was horrendous, and needed to add a quality player to the mix immediately.

It looks like they guessed wrong on the secondary, but I do like what they've done with our OL & DL. I just wish we had a promising rookie CB taking his lumps this year instead of next.

I agree that people have been going overboard with the cut so-and-so threads, and that we need to give it time....

BUT!!

There are MANY very easy, cheap and painless moves we can make with our roster that will significantly increase the talent pool on this team.

Our secondary and recieving corp is so pathetic that we can afford to drop a few people and sign some rookies off another team's PS (preferably teams with loaded secondaries or recievers, the Brandon London move should pay off for us soon, but we can do more)

A guy like Trae Williams can definitely come in here and be a nickle back for the rest of the year (If not a starter)

Some of our starters wouldnt even make the PS for other teams, that is SAD.

remember people,it's called rebuilding for a reason. based on some of the threads i've read, alot of people either expected or figured we'd come exploding right outta the gate, and that's just not gonna happen. it's gonna take a few years for the team to truly gel together;look at who we have in charge of rebuilding our team, and look at his track record at doing this. people, please be patient ok,it's gonna be ugly, but it will get better.
