Oh well, an NBA player can tweet the N word and other than what was said below, nothing has been mentioned on any of the talk shows:

During the third quarter, Barnes tweeted, "I love my teammates like family, but I'm DONE standing up for these n---as! All this s--- does is cost me money. …" The tweet was later deleted.

"I think he's very emotional and down that he got thrown out," Clippers coach Doc Rivers said of Barnes' online outburst. "I get that part but the choice of words obviously, that's not a word I'm a fan of in all venues."
Barnes' teammates came to his defense after the Clippers' 111-103 win.
"One of the best teammates I've ever had. Matt has a big heart. He goes out there and competes every night. Not scared of nothing," said Chris Paul, who hadn't seen the tweet.
"We appreciate what Matt does for us, and he's a great teammate," Griffin said. "We've got his back, and he's got ours."

GO FINS I LUV YA

Players using the 'N' word is not the problem with the Dolphins.

Could of fooled me, it is what started the media frenzy cuz it was in a VM.

Yes, it is Akron Ohio. STV-STM alum where you go to school?

Also having an outside view I can say that Miami, for whatever reason, is not viewed very highly by others. Not saying just the Dolphins or even because of this supposed "scandal", but the sports programs in general have a built in hate. Maybe it is jealousy after seeing the Dolphins be the only undefeated team in NFL history. Maybe because the Marlins are typically the biggest trainwreck in baseball but still have won two championships in the last 16 years. I am sure the reputation of "Thug U" for the Hurricanes plays a big part in it also. I don't really care about basketball and I know a few people who watched last year's finals not to see who won, but hoping the Heat would lose.

The national reputation of being fairweather fans and seeing empty stadiums/arenas almost daily has people laughing. Even I took part in the laughing/shaking my head when the Marlins had only an attendance of 347 fans. I understand an approaching hurricane had an impact on that, but 347 is still embarrassing.

Now you have the Hurricanes coming off a scandal and sactions and the Dolphins under investigation. The world loves drama and the fact that it involves Miami makes a lot of people smile. For whatever reason it isn't just the Dolphins that aren't liked, it is Miami as a sports town. Something has to be done to change that perception.

I hate to break this to you but Miami has been pretty much irrelevant on the national sports scene, this is the first time anyone is talking about them outside of div rivals.

Didn't you guys know that the dolphins are the only team in all professional sports that has players that say the N word? That's what ESPN any many other news outlets would let you believe….smh

I don't think Miami sports are the laughing stock. Last I checked the Heat's just won back to back championships

I agree 100%, and sorry to those that don't want to admit it, but the year in year out, nobody is able to go undefeated through an entire season, playoffs, and superbowl like the Dolphins did does have people upset, and disliking Miami more then they should.

It doesn't make them like them much each year when the last team goes down, and they hear on the news that a new cork from a bottle was just opened.

You want to know how relevant they are?Believe it or not, some rival fans are so obsessed, they post 3 times as much on a certain Dolphins board then they do on their own....that is the type of obsession that shows you how relevant the Dolphins are, and how less then relevant those rival fan's team might also be. :)
