Is it just me or is anyone else sick of everytime a has been gets released people want us to pick them up. C'mon folks - this is supposed to be a rebuild time. While I'm sure we all want to win next year - IF this team is to be rebuilt the right way we need to get some young guys in there and playing. We have enough vets to compliment already. Saban needs to take this year and maybe next and give these young guys some playing time and experience. We may have some growing pains but I'd rather see a young Roth make a mistake by trying to take someone's head off than seeing another year of D. Bowens teasing with potential and then falling off a ladder or falling asleep. Or T. Bowens sitting out half the year because of his back. I say suck it up for the next couple of years and this team will be stocked for a long run on top.

Hardy, Law, Hilliard - please - give it a rest. The best was Q. Carter though. Can he take a hand off with a straight jacket on? He can't throw any worse!

the dudes in rehab, not an asylum. sheesh.

But you're right i suppose. everyone just wants to win now. can't blame them.

The most effective way to break in new rookies would be to keep some veteran presense. I'm sure T-Bo has some tricks he can teach the new DTs and learning from a Pro Bowler ain't bad. I'll bet if Wade Smith had a veteran to show him around, he wouldn't have done so poorly in his rookie year (still bad but not as bad if he had some guidance). Rooks can lose their confidence if they don't have someone behind em. Moss benefited from Carter, Surtain from T-Buck, etc...

OK i guess you just read the thread Ty Law, and other players I would be interested in the fins getting

wade smith did well his rookie year... it was his second year that he sucked...

We can only build with youth so much. Signing some of these veteran players help ease the rookies into the NFL better. You bring up the example of Hillard(I would rather Hakim or Boston), but it is not a bad idea to sign him(or one of the other two) to a 1 year deal to help strengthen our depth. We only drafted 6 players, so we are going to need some Vets to get by this season.
