Defensive Line Coach from Green Bay!

http://www.packers.com/team/coaches/trgovac_mike/
He comes to Green Bay from Carolina, where he was the Panthers' defensive coordinator for the past six seasons. In that time, Trgovac directed a defense that produced 10 Pro Bowl selections and ranked in the NFL's top 10 in both yards and points allowed three times.

Most recently, that was in 2006, when the Panthers ranked seventh in the league in yards allowed (296.1) and eighth in points allowed (305). The previous year was statistically the Panthers' best under Trgovac, as in 2005 they ranked third in yards (282.6), fifth in points (259) and first in takeaways (a team-record 42) in helping Carolina advance to its second NFC Championship Game in three seasons.

My only concern would be what got him from DC at Carolina to Defensive Line Coach in GB? From the looks of it he had a good defense at Carolina every year, so what went wrong? My guess is he was a fall guy for Carolina's piss poor performance in the NFC Championship Game at home. Fox threw him under the bus, due to his own denial about Jake Delhome, refusing to admit it was Jake and his 7 turnovers that lost the game.

He was offered a contract extension by the panthers, but rejected it saying he felt it was time to move on.

I agree. Trgovac seems, on paper at least, to be a good fit and he has as a good record as dfin54 pointed out.

this is actually another guy i like alot.

he would be a great hire. his units have been succsesfull
wherever he has been.

even though it was college, taking a program from an 83 ranked
defense to #1 in one year is a MAJOR accomplishment.

i just want a coach from the outside who can come in with a fresh
look and fresh system.

and besides, if bowles has already been getting head coaching
interviews, he wont be around long. and obviously [cant blame him]
he wants to be one so its another reason this isnt a good hire for
us.
