It's only 1 game BUT reality is:

Lee is not ready for Sunday game day. Guy has no concentration or he is just not that good. Plus he fumbles half the balls he doesn't drop.

For everyone trying to find positives with Spielman - skip over the Howard pickup. He was brutal and the only reason it wasn't worse was because the Bears' QB's overthrew the WR's.

Our secondary will be in a close battle behind the Oline for biggest weakness on the team.

It's clear the only way we will be able to run the ball is to open up the passing game. And you can't do that with 3-4 yard passes. In case AJ was online.

Thompson is not the 3rd best WR on this team. Boston looks like he could be a game breaker like back in the AZ days IF he stays healthy. I also think Gilmore deserves more PT. I think Thompson should be trade material because we have depth there.

Gordon dances too much (I sort of don't blame him cause there were no holes). Ricky does not like to get hit anymore. His 1st year here he used to run people over. Now he dives near their feet before he gets tackled. Morris better stick - guy runs hard. For all the people saying Minor is the odd guy out - he looked pretty good to me.

Spragan and Crowder are going be fun to watch. Great pickups at LB - finally!

It's early but we have 2 guys that could be used in a trade to get a nickel back or maybe another OL and that is Gordon and Thompson. Heck - maybe even mid to late rd picks but these 2 guys are expendable because there are young guys behind them that look to have a higher upside.

Just my 2 cents....

The OL was fine, IT WAS THE RBS, FBS, TES, AND H-BACKS....

You cant get anything for Thompson imo.

I dissagree!! The O-line was not fine. There were times when the rb's failed to pick up blitzes, true... but most of the time the o-line, specially the interior linemen, were not creating any holes. The tackles looked ok, but the guards and center were a cause for concern. True it was the first game, and Middleton was not playing, But Hadnot looks like he belongs at guard, and St Clair was out played in several ocassions.

Our line played alright but we had trouble picking up stunts the only 2 times I saw someone beat it was McKinney and he got killed and the other was the left tackle but he didnt quit.

Lee I agree on

Howard I agree on thus far.

Secondary was shelled by brutal calls and by poor play from guys that wont play a down in the regular season. Plus Lance and Tebucky were not on first team. Their influence will go a long way. I think in this kind of pressure scheme it looks like we are giong to be running Safties are more important than corners anyways.

Gordon had no holes and only touched the ball so many times.

Of course Thompson is not the third best. Is everyone forgetting we have Chambers, Booker, Boston, then Thompson (who has always been trash). Gilmore is our 4th, Thompson is our 5th.

Linebackers I agree.

Of course those guys are tradeable, they are trash. But we wont get anythign for them. Plus we dont need another OL. We just need to develop the ones we have and get them used to playing as a unit. There is not one position in football that is more about cohession than skill as the OL is.

Was impressed with receiving corp, liked Boston and Gilmore. Thought Welker and Farmer looked good as well. We are okay at this position.

Agree Lee drops too may balls, too far away to watch camp but now I realize what daily reports were talking about.

At RB, I think we really need to get Brown in here.

Also thought secondary looked weak, but its early.

At QB, I thought Frerotte looked the best, has the most presence. I've always hoped Feeley would turn out but I'm starting to have my doubts. I think Frerotte can tide us over while the team develops, but I think we need to find a QB with potential. I don't think much of Rosefels or Berlin for anything other than a 3 at best.

how did you get that about Ricky from 5 carries with no o-line holes?

Because in his 2nd year that's what he started doing the 2nd half of the season. I was watching to see what style he would run with especially since he lost the weight. Watch him as he approaches would be tacklers now. He will dive towards their feet or to the side of them. In the past he would run over them every now and then. I don't think he wants to take the beating and yes after his few carries nothing has changed IMO from where he left off. I still like him BUT he doesn't run with the same desire he had his 1st year where he was going to get his yards by you or over you.
