Lets play Omar Kelly's game: 25 FO Mistakes

To put it bluntly!!! I'm STUNNED at the position the franchise is in, at the moment!!! I never expected this from Parcells. But it became apparent his BS and Bravado, won Wayne H. over and than he sold Ross ... He lost me with the Pat White pick, no matter how many of the TV draft Guru's who tried to put a positive spin on it; after the success of the wildcat!!! Ireland lost me after the Dez Bryant situation, although I can understand why it could have been an issue, but in Ireland's defense Bryant may have talent, but, his off field stuff he's shown since being drafted somewhat exonerates him ... I was a BIG believer in Parcells, because i grew up in the NY/NJ area where he is a legend ... BIG mistake on my part ... His stubborn ways took this franchise down to the level it is today ... While there is better talent on the current roster in comparison to what was on the roster during Cameron's year here, something seems to be missing; for this team to be 0-4 ... that thing that is missing, is true leadership from it's head coach!!! Sparano is exactly like Cameron, in that he may be a better position coach or coordinator than head coach ... and is in over his head as the leader of a team ... I believe Ross knows what he has to do, and is just waiting on the right opportunity ... even though he may have sacrificed the 2011 season (by keeping Sparano) to POSSIBLE get what he wants ... Parcells is the true blame here, and Ireland and Sparano are the chips that failed to right the ship!!! IMO Rex Ryan was the man for the job ... if he had Miami's defense, this wouldn't be happening today!!! and there would be toughness on the field instead of what we fan's are watching today ...

just poor leadership, plain and simple. tony sparano just simply isnt a guy that inspires confidence, and his players saw everything we did. his management of games and game day decisions opened a window for everyone to question if this guy had a clue what he was doing. once that doubt creeps in - thats all she wrote. these things were being questioned early in the season last year by players, and prior to that by fans. when parcells left, he took every ounce of credibility that was left right out the door with him. suddenly that looming figure that players had to be concerned about was gone. they were left with only sparano to answer to, and his credibility was somewhat undermined by parcells presence, and then what little was left - by ross's trip out west. the second this team started losing it was all going to collapse. parcells took the money and ran like a coward. he didnt finish the job he was paid in advance to do. IMO sparano is a poor coach, but in many ways he is also somewhat a victim of what developed around him, of which much of the responsibility lies clearly with parcells.

im just glad hes gone, he wasnt going to finish the job anyways - he never does. time for a new beginning

There is also one other thing that makes me sick about the Parcells debacle; that is Samson Satele!!! that's right Samson Satele!!! this guy is the starting center on the O-Line that has been in the top 3 in running the football over the last 3 seasons!!! If these clowns would have kept him instead of trading him, because he didn't fit their mold ... this team MIGHT not have been looking for the interior line help they have been for the past few years if they just kept him!!! IMAGINE if they would have drafted Pouncey to play LG with Satele STILL at center .. Man it would have been awesome to see .. both of them have above average move to their games!!! instead, Parcells and his clowns got rid of a guy that has become an above average starter in the NFL, for injury prone players such as Grove and Smiley ... Satele has been very DURABLE in his short career ... what we have now is a WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN SCENARIO!!! and that plain stinks!!!!

its completely foolish to trade players that can actually play EVER because the odds of hitting on a draft pick are pretty low after the first 2 rounds. considering the way our line has played and the retreads they have shuffled through here u mean to tell me satele couldnt at the VERY LEAST been a valuable backup?? parcells is a ****ing idiot. they simply gave satele away. didnt we swap 4th rounders and get a 6th for the guy? same thing with ginn. at least he could have been returning kicks and punts and hes a better receiver than gates is at this point. same thing with matt roth - parcells ego got in the way and we ended up cutting a guy that could start for us and provide pressure. anthony armstrong is another guy all he ever did was make plays in practice from every report u ever heard coming out of camp for 2 years in a row - yet a team in desperate need of speed never even gave the guy a look. just makes u wonder

Getting Sparano
Drafting Pat White
Signing Marc Colombo
Re-signing Jason Taylor
Putting Carey at RG
Signing Richie Incognito
I love Daniel Thomas, but Ryan Mallett would have been better IMO
Drafting Jason Allen
Not keeping Devin Aromashodu and Derek Hagan...they seem to do well elsewhere.
Not keeping Patrick Cobbs, he made some good plays.
Signing Marc Colombo..
Getting rid of Ricky and Ronnie
Signing Gibril Wilson
Playing Reshad Jones
Signing Marc Colombo
Playing Jake Long when he is obviously still injured. What if he gets injured even more and it ruins his career?
Taking Ronnie Brown in the Top 5 of the draft
Ross saying he sides with Sparano
Ross apparently looking at Jon Gruden
Signing Marc Colombo
Not signing David Garrard who could have upgraded us big time
Releasing Lousaka Polite
Not signing Ahmad Bradshaw
Hiring Parcells
Oh yeah, and one last thing....signing Marc Colombo

Wrong FO

Derek Hagan sucks monkey balls, on his 3rd team doing nothing.

Patrick Cobbs was useless after that season ending injury

Ricky and Ronnie aren't doing much with their new teams, especially Ronnie

Again Ronnie was drafted by Saban, this "game" is supposed to be mistakes by this current FO

thinking about it is pretty depressing. we have had nothing but terrible drafts since jimmy johnsons first couple years 15 years of horrible drafting. not one single IMPACT player in 15 years. pathetic that the only guy that MAY qualify is Long and he was a #1 overall pick (and STILL the wrong guy) and even his play has been awful this year

ricky has 36 more yards rushing than our starting rb bush. he is also averaging 4.7 a carry compared to bush's 3.0.. as for hagan he has 1o receptions

I agree with you 100%

How far are we going back? let's talk about three of the biggest draft mistakes.

Jamar Fletcher over Drew Brees. Does Fletcher even still play?
Ronnie Brown over Aaron Rodgers. Pick number two for a back-up college back.
Jake Long over Matt Ryan. I am sure we could have found a good tackle with the next pick. Is Long really that much better than the rest of that OL class?

It'd be more fun to try to come up with 25 reasons why Omar
is paid to write this slop.

Because Omar is a lazy azz and had people write in what they thought
was the top 25 mistakes hence he got all his info from people emailing/twitter

Just another way for Omar to claim it was his work
when it wasn't

well u know i have caught hell for years because I have not agreed with the direction of my favorite team and was not a fan of parcells from the beginnning

Same here, on another board I am persona non-grata because of it.

heres a great reason not to take a quarterback BTW by our own Mike Nolan:

So why did Rodgers drop? Once he wasn’t chosen by the Niners — he played nearby at Cal — and was ignored by a few other teams, a lot of teams didn’t need a quarterback. But why didn’t the Niners’ new coach, Mike Nolan, take him? Gary Peterson of The Contra Costa Times explained recently:
Nolan was no-nonsense, a strong personality who didn’t like to be challenged. He met with both Rodgers and Smith before the draft. He caught a whiff of attitude from Rodgers, and that was that. Smith was chosen based on personality. He is cerebral, introspective, with a distaste for confrontation.

I made a post a while ago about how terrible Nolan's regime was in SF, in order to dissuade those who wanted him as head coach.
