Lets say RW didn't retire

Regardless of how we lost Ricky whether it was the way he did or through injury etc. etc. We built our whole offense around him, and building your offense around 1 player almost always hurts you in the long run. I was just hoping the long run with Ricky would be more than 2 seasons. If Saban was the coach, or even Dick Vermeil I bet... Ricky would still be here today. It's sad but probably true, when in doubt blame Wanny and that's likely the truth. Wanny. :whip2:

if ricky would have played he would have got injured with that line, and then he could have stayed home and do what he loves to do

:infins:

With the injuries on D line and our shocking O-line play i can't imagine we'd have been better than 8-8 maybe 9-7 at best, and while Rickys choice of time to leave the team was horrendous, i for one will give him some credit because whenever he was on the field he did everything a guy could to win games for us... Hell if the guy had a brain he'd be dangerous! (to opponents defenders that is :cooldude:)

I wouldn't say the eagles had depth at WR when TO went down. They had Freddie freaking Mitchell. The NFC is just so weak that the eagles were able to get by anyway, not b/c of depth.

Most teams would have a huge drop off talent wise from losing a guy like TO, Harrison, Moss. The point is, they werent in a mad scramble to find a guy to step up. They had a guy in mitchell who at least knew the system and could step in and play fairly well. If only he ran on the field as well as he runs his mouth he'd be a pro bowler. Although I agree the NFC teams are weak, they did step up and win two playoff games with their 3rd string WR starting.

We lose Boston and we have to trade for a WR. We lose RW and we have to trade for a RB. Where is the depth? Im not asking for T Brady type of depth like when Drew went down. Im just saying you should have guys who know the system and you know what you have in them. That way you dont have to go into panic mode.

And imo, RW knew we had nothing behind him that year and we were going to run him into the ground.

Speilman is the reason we went into panic mode. He was out to find the next Brady and make a name for himself.
