Before we make him out to be Dan Marino, lets remember the big stat Jim Nantz had in the game yesterday. Detroit has the worst defense against the pass, as far as completion percentage, in NFL history, so maybe that had something to do with it. I am concerned with 1 throw, the INT before the half. He has to know not to force that. The points ended up not being needed, but we may need a game where one of those throws costs us the game. I am not even bringing up Culpepper, because right now the next 5 weeks are where Joey has to prove he is the QB for this football team. And the next 2 weeks against defensive coaches, we'll see what he can do. And I dont care how many injuries Jax has, Del Rio will find ways to try and make Joey make mistakes. And possibly without Ronnie Brown, the onus will be on Joey to make plays. I am interested in seeing what Joey can do.

To beat Jacksonville, he will need to play very well. I expect to see a few things out of Joey and that is A) Avoid the big mistake that kills him every game. B) Show us another solid second half like yesterday. C) Don't miss open recievers down field.

With the exception of those things, Joey has been fine. He can't do that against teams like Jacksonville and New England. I'm most concerned with the big mistake. Someone needs to teach Joey that any possesion that ends with a kick, is an okay one.

Whos making Joey our next Marino?
Hes doing the job, hes improving and hes winning, nothing more, nothing less.

That needle threading TD pass to McMichael was impressive no matter what defense you're playing against. Actually all 3 of his TD throws were accurate. The 2nd Booker TD hit him perfectly in stride and Joey was running when he threw it.

If he keeps winning there will definitly be a qb controversy.

so far in the last 4 games joey hasnt played like a star qb, but no one has asked him to play like that. he has for the most part managed the games well. unfortunately for joey its hard to say dont make the big mistake bc you know every game theres gonna be that throw when your screaming at the tv. in the next couple of games, joey is going to have to do something we havent asked him to do yet.......win football games. i dont see our running game doing much against the jags or pats, with or without ronnie. so your right when you say we are going to see if joey can be a true winning qb.

yeah dont go giving Joey harrington any credit guys. He still throws Interceptions ya know. He still doesnt get the ball to CC when he drops passes right in his bread basket. He still sucks because basically most people on this message board say he sucks, so lets not go crazy here and actually think Joey can play.

I think it comes down to the line. The past few games theyve done a good job of giving Joey more time to make decisions and with his quick release this could be a big factor in the next two games against good defensive teams. The fact we beat Minnesota without a running game shows Joey can lead a team to a win himself, although Jax and NE are a step up from Minn.

I sense a hint of sarcasm...Or at least I hope I do....It will take the Super Bowl for some on here to lay down thier stubborn pride and give the man the credit I think he's earned....He still has a ways to go...But he is getting better with every game, and he's doing what it takes to win ball games...

He said that exact thing himself in an interview before the Bears game. He needs to listen to himself.

If you watched that play closely you will see that CC was wide open running down the sideline, so it wasn't a poor decision. However, Detroit had pressure on Joey so he had to step up and to the left to avoid a sack. That threw off the timing. He was then hit as he threw the ball and it lost some steam. That gave the DB time to recover and make the int. If CC was more aggressive he could have easily knocked that ball away. I give credit to Detroit's defense on that play. It was not a mistake on JH's part. He had the correct read, but the defense made a play.
BTW, I don't believe anyone on this site has made a comparison to Marino.

Not in terms of shutting down the run. Minny is number 1 in the league.
