I was bored at work thinking what if we did this. What if we brought in both Boldin and TJ Housh, changed our style of offense to 4 and 5 wide out formations and dumped on the defense all day? Think about it, we could have them two, Ginn, Bess and Camarillo. Defenses wouldn’t know what 2 do. Brown would have a 1K plus yard year because the D would be defending the pass, Ricky would have a great year, plus they can both catch, we would add in our tight ends in the mix and if we draft an all around full back he could be another threat in the passing game. Suddenly that tuff schedule ahead looks a lot easier and I could see us right back in the playoffs. Making it farther this time, hell, superbowl year!!!!

What do you think, am I living in La La Land?

sounds to me like the cardinals with good running backs! i highly doubt we would get both of them though.

That would be too many people on the field. Unless we took off some of the hogs but that is blasphemy in its own right.

... only crazy skinny guys think of taking linemen off the field. IMHO, I think that we should take some WRs off the field and ADD linemen. 7 O-linemen and 1 TE, 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR. no more, no less.

that would be putting all our eggs in one cap hell basket. no thanks. boldin would be plenty.

No no no no no. That style is only ever remotely effective with a gunslinger quarterback. Or with a coach who specializes in that style. We have neither. (In fact, Parcells/Ireland/Sparano have the antithesis of that style). All a team would have to do to stop a constant five wide set is get pressure, which is easy because we wouldn't have a single TE or RB on the field.

Also, we would have Boldin, TJ, Camarillo, Ginn, Bess, Ricky, Ronnie, Fasano AND Martin. (Not even considering a fullback.) Thats nine players, only five of which can be on the field at once. So at all times, four offensive players of Average to above average skill are on the sidelines watching the game.

And out of the best rushers the last five years, how many did so out of a spread offense? My guess is less than a quarter.

No thanks, i'll spend my money and draft picks on one reciever and the rest on the other side of the ball. Because, as always, what wins championships? Defense.

ooooo that'd be fun. we could win every game 48-47. Oh wait.

So all those guys we signed and drafted last year who are slobber knocker Parcells guys would need to be released so we can draft and sign smaller faster players?

Pass the bong baby!

But of course I mean all them by rotation. Not at once. i am aware we need our linemen out there 2... but are you guys saying you would be opposed 2 bringing in both tj and boldin or everything else i said?

I think the NFL could switch to this style quickly. No lineman allowed, no plays called, just WR's running wild all over the field.

Defense would have to count to "5 alligators" before they could cross the line of scrimmage and blitz the QB.

It would be a waste. I am all for having one of them. I like the idea of Ricky and ronnie sharing time and Boldin, Ginn and Camarillo on the field at once. Would be nice. But then we also have Bess, Fasano, Martin and London. Oh yeah and Wilford. But who is counting him? I think we need o keep Ginn and Bess on the field as much as possible because once Ginn gets caught up to the NFL he is going to be a playmaker. Not a #1 receiver but a playmaker none the less. And Bess is the same. Get the ball to them in the open field and they are scary. But we do need a true #1 and who knows what Camarillo will do this season. He may never be the same again. I would prefer Boldin cuz hes younger but I think Housh may fit our style of play better.
