That was a huge play that set the tone for the game. How can it be grounding when your arm is hit as you throw? No one knows where the ball is going to land? I do believe the officials got that wrong. I’ve never ever seen that before.

Huh? How in the hell would you know where he threw it? Arm was hit and it fluttered away.

It was a horrible call. Didn't ultimately matter, but it was horrible.
Because I saw the ball leave his hand and arrive at a place on the field where there was no eligible receiver. That's all that matters for the call

Again, it was within a couple yards of Smythe. In case you didn't know, (and I'm assuming you don't know) Smythe is a TE and is an eligible receiver.

Disagree here- that ball was intended for Mostert in the screen to Teddy's left. Teddy started his motion as if he didn't even see Gardner bearing down on him. Plus, you could tell Teddy wasn't throwing it away, he got his arm jolted in the middle of his throwing motion. OP is right here,

It may have been intended for Mostert. The arm hit changed the trajectory of the ball. I’ve never seen that called grounding - ever

100% agree / I thought Mostert was the intended receiver

Ridiculous take. He could have been throwing to a guy 10 yds downfield but no one would know of if his arm is hit and it flutters just a couple yards. As well Smythe was close and he was eligible. Never seen such a BS call.
