Name one playmaker we currently have on defense. Maybe Porter, maybe the rookie d-linemen will turn into playmakers. WR will be a major need, as will all of the secondary positions. But I think you need to go BPA, and Maualuga is it.

I will go with Rey Maualuga as well. This franchise needs a face and I think Maualuga can provide that with a force. Opposing teams don't gameplan against Crowder, they don't gameplan against Bell and they sure don't gameplan against Porter (which may have cost the Patriots the game last year but nevertheless). Maualuga is an aggressive linebacker who poses a threat in many different ways and if some of the young defensive players acquired through the draft do pan out, a Maualuga pick will only look that much better.

Not a chance we'll land Maualuga. He'll go #1 or 2 and we won't have that pick due to the fact we won't be one of the worst 2 teams.

IMO, i think we should trade down. Go to the teens and pick up and extra second or third round pick.

i think we'll look to add two HUGE, i mean, HUGE playmakers at the WR position and another to enhance the pass defence...

Crabtree is my choice but if the dolphins staff feel the WR class is deep, they'll go with a shutdown corner or a pass rushing specialist to take roth's spot

ultimately, it makes more sense to draft crabtree because there's just one way to make this offence better: draft a a true, #1WR
if you want to make this defence better, there are several ways to do so... CB, Safety, OLB, ILB and maybe even DT... so there's a lot more options at, lets say, #40 if you already have your WR in round 1 and you are looking for a defensive player than if you draft a defensive player first and you take the 4th or 5th WR in the draft at #40...that's the way i see it ....

Maualuga had 12 tackles in that Oregon State game. I agree that I dont want Laurinitus but I do want Rey Maualuga he is a beast!

just cause he got tackles doesnt mean he was playing well. From what i watched, he never stepped up and filled the hole, he just chased the RB down a lot.

Granted im not ready to say he sucks or anything, cause hes really good, but it was not his best game.
