I taped the NFL Network coverage of the Senior Bowl practice yesterday, and I saw a lot of Levi Brown during the practice and on tape. He is, in my opinion, a very impressive player. He's doesn't look to be a naturally fluid athlete like D'Brickashaw Ferguson showed last year, but he has very good feet for a big guy, and when you watch him on tape, Penn St. used him on a lot of pulls and movement plays. He also came off as a very smart guy, not just football smart.

The matchup I was most interested in seeing was Levi Brown vs. Lamar Woodley. On the two plays I saw, Brown handled Woodley very well. I think the key this week will be to see how he handles speed rushers like Woodley, because his strength at the point of attack is good, but the scouts have always questioned his recovery speed.

Pennsylvania resident here and PSU fan so I've seen a fair amount of Levi. I think what he needs to show at the Senior Bowl and Combine is that he can pass block at the NFL level. I think he'll adapt fine in the running game and can power block and pull as needed. He might be a bit of a stretch at #9 right now but his stock could rise with some good workouts. He is definetly the second best OT in the draft behind Joe Thomas.

Trading down to like the 15 to 18 range and getting Levi and another pick would be awesome but as with all trade down scenarios will be tough to pull off.

Its intresting how most people want to trade out of the # 9 spot, saying that no one we talk about is worthy of that pick. Have we become that paranoid already?

Nope not paranoid, just this draft you seem to have 4 or 5 guys at most (C.Johnson, Russell, Quinn, J.Thomas, and maybe Peterson) that are the real hot guys. After the next 15 to 20 guys are all in the same range and have more questions. I think overall this draft is maybe down a little but pretty average, it just seems like less A+ players and a bigger group of A-/B+ guys, making picking where we pick less of a sure thing. I do think they'll be some good value there, but also a few busts taken early.

Okay good, I'm not paranoid then.

Levi looked good against everyone except Anthony Spencer.

The reason we would consider trading down is we could be able to pick up for example, both Pozlusny (who apparently will be a reach at 9) and Levi Brown (projected late first rounder).

I know trade down scenarios rarely work out that good, but it would be nice to address 2 areas of need with actual impact players.

Pretty much. doesnt matter wehre we pick, we will want to trade out bc of the fear we have that was instilled by prevoius drafts.
