Lex Hilliard lined up at Full Back in practice

There is no doubt in my mind they are going to figure out a way to keep Lex Hilliard. Too many if's next year at the RB position.

The Dolphins invested time developing him so why would they cut him.

Keeper!

YES!!! Yes, Yes, Yes!!!! I was hoping they would try him at FB, and sure enough of this regime doesn't dissappoint!

I knew you would be happy about this. You have been saying it for two weeks now.

Thought about you when I first read it.

I think it is a good move.

I think unless he has an absolutely disastrious game Thursday (like 2 fumbles and a blown tackle) he's in like flint.

Good call X-Pac!

Bro, did you just cream yourself?

No, RedTube and my 22 year old friend w/ benefits does that for me. I'm happy because this is what Lex SHOULD be playing. He runs like a FB, he played some FB at Montana, it makes all the sense in the world for Lex to be doing this. If this guy can lead block more effectively than Lousaka, then he needs to be running with the starters, not the PS.

I will agree that I like this move. Now let's see him block on Thursday. I would also like to see him get more passes thrown to him. I know he caught one in stride out of the backfield that I remember...I would like to see more though.

If he makes the roster, it might still be temporary until someone gets claimed off waivers.

I still suspect Miami will make a go at a return guy. Namely, Roscoe Parrish.

I've been saying this for a bit as well, having him line up as 2nd FB on this team would be the best way to justify his roster.

Besides, this guy has size. If he can block, I would think he might even be able to surpass polite eventually who i think is easily replaceable.

X,

I have to agree with you. I was wondering the same thing. I was beginning to wonder if they didn't think he was big enough or something else. I remember reading somewhere that Sporano still wasn't excited about Polite's blocking.

Now, I'm really looking forward to this New Orleans game. I think this will be an opportunity for Lex Hilliard to show what he can do at the FB position. Now, I don't know that for sure but since they're working him at FB, he'll probably see time at the position in the game. Anyways, if he can go out there and open up holes, and knock fools on their backside, then after the game Coach Sparano has a very tough decision on his hands.

Yes, Lousaka is servicable. Yes, Lousaka was money on short yardage last year, and for one play so far this preseason. That being said, the primary job of a FB is to be an EFFECTIVE lead blocker. Short yardage runs, and ability to catch is merely icing on the cake. If you've got a guy who is younger, cheaper, and has shown you that he can do a better job than your current starter, how do you not keep him? Again, how do you not keep him?

I hope Lex really takes advantage of the opportunity in front of him. I don't how much more I can take of Polite's half a$$ed efforts on lead blocks.

Right with you. I was hoping they would try him out at FB, and my wish has come true. Here's hoping we get to see alot of him at FB against the Saints. I have been really wanting to see how his leadblocking is.
