So with the recent revelation that Schefty/ESPN decided to doctor the voicemail transcript, to make it fit their narrative and intended story line, I ask you this.

Is there anything we can do to try and get Schefter to be held accountable for this misinformation?

We know for sure that ESPN won't bring this to light or reprimand their own... this is why I come to you guys for any ideas. What can we do, if anything about it?

Start a #hashtag on Twitter, in hopes it can spread and trend? Write a letter/petition to ESPN in complaint? Any suggestions?

I'm just sick and tired of seeing the people on a soapbox, that have the opportunity to reach the masses spread nothing but disinformation, furthering their agenda.

Heckle ESPN whenever you can.

One person talking trash about the biggest sports network in the world won't do a single thing. Just like one person boycotting the network won't even register on their radar.... or effect ratings.

It might be a personal victory, or make you feel better but if anything is intended to come of it, it's gonna have to be on a lot bigger scale.

Again, this is why I emphasized "what can be done, if anything?"

where is the link to espn doctoring the vm, i missed this?

Did they actually doctor it though? Or is that just an assumption based on leaving part of it out of the transcript? BTW, I cant stand Schefter so I'm not defending that clown or espn at all.

I spent a few minutes searching for the doctoring story (not doubting you) and I just simply can't find it, can you link to the story?

The voice mail which Martin kept was later played in the Dolphins locker room around a group of players ... And Martin was the one who played it, according to two players. And he joked about it.

"This is the same guy that was laughing about this voice mail at one point in time, first of all," receiver Brian Hartline said of Martin. "Second of all, I believe that if you look through the whole voice mail, there's some things said that you probably shouldn't say in general, friends or not friends. But I know for a fact, that I've said things to my friends that I kind of wish I've never said, either."

There's another thing. According to a source close to Incognito, the transcript of the voice mail is not complete. It omits the last line.

After Incognito went on this apparent diatribe, his voice softens, and matter-of-factly he says, "Ok, call me back."

And ... Martin called him back, the source said.

Does this release Incognito from the racially charged words? No.

Do this add context? Yes.

The only people that have actually heard the VM are Martin's camp... Schefty.. and a couple people at ESPN.

If you only read the text of the voice mail.... and leave out the end... it makes it seem like a horrific, vile and demonstrative phone call.

If you add the "hahahah, Okay, call me back" into the text, it gives it a little more context.

If you listen to the voicemail, in full, then you will really hear the tone and context. This is why I believe they only released the transcript instead of the audio, because it wouldn't coincide with the narrative of racism and bullying.

FWIW it's not doctoring, it's just withholding. News outlets do it all the time when they want to get a certain point across

Stephen a smith just totally ripped Armando slaguero and Omar and James walker a new ass hole. Called them fools for making article calling Ritchie an honorary black man said this is the most ignorant article he's ever read. Believes Martin has a major fault in this. I was like hell yeah!

That's not true. The Dolphins heard it as well and when they did they determined it warranted an indefinite suspension for Cogs,

Good call, forgot to add in the Organization/Front Office heard it as well. Thank you!

"You like potatoes, I like potatoes / You like tomatoes, I like tomatoes / Potatoes, potatoes / tomatoes, tomatoes"

Rather than worry about word choice.... why not worry about the fact that they withheld information or doctored/deleted a line from the transcript?

Isn't that the more pressing part of the story?
