Does anyone remeber the glowing words of praise that DW and the coaches had for our "offensive line" during training camp? We were told that they were young and "athletic", etc. Remember how they told us Wade Smith was going to be so much better? Someone with the time ought to go back and dig up some of those quotes.
THE QUESTION IS: Were they lying about the ability of these new lineman or just plain inept in evaluting talent? I don't think they were lying. I believe they just don't have a clue about talent or they don't have a clue on how to coach talent.
I have been a Dolphin fan since the franchise started. Coach Wilson and Joe Auer could outcoach and outplay this team. I have never seen such a pathetic offensive display by the ANY NFL team, much less the Dolphins.
DW appears to be a really nice guy and was a great defensive coordinator, but he is not a head coach. He's in over his head and I do not believe he has ever had this team behind him. They aren't buying in. That equals failure.
Probably the ideal situation would be for JJ to come in and be the interim coach (if he would do it). It's the same defensive system he installed and I bet he could "motivate" the offensive line. I think the players would follow him. It would be the less disruptive way to make it through the rest of the season and still have a chance to win some games.
Just my opinion...
