Jelani Jenkins is slotted at WLB largely because he's our best coverage linebacker. But after watching him in several games from last year and in both games this year, he also strikes me as our most instinctive backer. He shows good awareness, enough speed to go sideline to sideline, and he's a relatively sure tackler. While he's lighter than some of the other linebackers on the roster, you don't need him to be a thumper in a 4-3...theoretically, the DTs should occupy the blockers to allow Jenkins to chase plays.

Move Jenkins to the middle, keep Misi at SLB, and move Vigil to the WLB where he doesn't have responsibility for making the defensive calls.

Hey fellas, I don't mind dissenting opinions, but a flat "no" without any reasoning is a cop out.

Don't think that's quite the solution. Has a team ever made a deep post season run with complete indecision at Mike? The splitting snaps is pretty baffling to me. I just don't see how that can work.

I dont mind the shuffle. They need to give guys snaps to find out who will shine. Same along the Dline and in the db. We dont have playmakers and we need to find out who that is. A few guys are set like Reshad and Grimes but other than that it's open. Roster sucks.

Shepperd is terrible, I don't care that he made 1 big stop yesterday. I noticed here and there they inserted Vigil for a series. Vigil needs to be the full time Mike. We (and the rest of the NFL) know what there is to Shepperd (not much, hence him moving from team to team). Vigil needs to be given the position for good and let whatever happens, happen. There is no way the outcome from his play will negatively affect our path forward more than Shepperd staying in there.

Shepperd is terrible, that was pretty obvious during preseason.

Coyle should be served his 2nd of 3 warnings this morning.

One more and he should be fired.

Maybe there is a UDFA out there that we can put in there... Why we did not address this in the off season is one more coaching failure.

Let's see, because they addressed TE, WR, CB, OL, RB, etc. It's like trying to plug 12 leaky holes with 5 corks. You're not going to get them all at once.

The mike lb situation is inexcusable

i thought it was our #1 focus this past off season.... but not making any moves on it, you basically had to sadly come into 2015 expecting this.

ILB is going to be our #1 primary focus again this off season.

for now.... I dont want to bring Misi back into ILB... so its gonna be a rough ride i think. We will see how it keeps playing out.

I keep saying there's a way to fix this. Misi in the middle. Period. So He can play sideline to sideline and he's our second best coverage guy after Jenkins. Any LB at SAM would do. Maybe vigil since he's the best of the remaining bunch? And who else is missing Chris Clemons right about now? He may never get an interception but he's the fastest safety in the NFL and the best over the top after Byrd/Thomas/Weddle in no particular order.
