I'm about 75% sure we will run the 3-4 next year. My question is who will be our Linebackers?

J. Porter (OLB)
Z. Thomas (MLB)
C. Crowder (MLB)
T. Suggs (OLB)?!?!

What do you think?

Thats a Great linebackering core I would be so excited if we got got Suggs I live near Baltimore and I have seen him play he is so good he would just make our defense so much better.

well i worried on Thomas but:

Thomas and crowder in the middle
Porter OLB
and i would like to say rookie Tommy Blake on the other OLB

otherwise hmph... Spragan or Smith i guess

He is so high energy and high powered that is someone who would bring this whole team up.

Any other year I think that would be a nice group, but as a rebuilding team I think we'll go younger.

Porter
Goff
Crowder
Chris Long or Crable (depending on who we draft)

I think Zach retires or isn't brought back due to medical concerns and JT should be moved for whatever draft pick we can acquire (2nd or 3rd?)

I'm almost 100% sure we are running a 3/4, looking at the coaches that were brought in and the fact that Miami has an inside LBer coach and an outside LBer coach.

First of all, Jason Taylor is almost certainly going to be back and the weakside OLB. He's an ideal fit, Parcells suggested he wasnt going to get rid of him, and he was one of the guys Ireland contacted immediately.

Crowder can make himself a FA this offseason I believe, has frankly not been that good, and probably doesnt have the game preparation skills Parcells is going to want.

Porter pretty well showed this year that he wasnt a great fit for strongside OLB in general, and will probabaly considered less so this year given that Parcells and Co. prefer their strongside OLBs about 20 pounds heavier than Porter. It's possible that Porter ends up seeing a rotational role, or switches to ILB(Parcells defense has a long history of pass-rush oriented, formerly DE/OLBs at ILB)

We must rebuild the whole entire defense, nobody is safe on that side of the ball and deservedly so.

yeah Porter had a great second half of the year. my bad on Taylor... forgot they may bring him off the line, i can definitely see that.... though that depletes out D-line sooooo much... oh wait we have a #1 draft pick. wonder what we should get.

Crowder though i think played pretty solid for the most part. he had to face a lot since out front line couldnt control the o-line... crowder was gotten to quite often, and couldnt fill holes and get to the ball cleanly all the time. but yeah, we do need something more there too. especially with Thomas and his head situation. u dont emss with the head.

Why must people constantly neglect the fact that Jason Taylor is an OLB in a 3-4. We arent playing Wanny's 4-3 anymore. In a 3-4, here are the linebackers:

Porter, Crowder, Thomas, JT

JT is an end when we run a 4-3.

I hope Zack Thomas and Jason Taylor return for last year and if thery dont I hope they both win superbowls because if there are to guys that deserve to win one it is them but I dont see them going any where.

No bud, he's the weakside LBer. He's moved around a bit and sometimes shifts so it looks like he is on the line, but he's a LB in the 3/4.
Your right. I was thinking I always saw him on the line but that wasn't true.

Tommy Blake..... anybody thoughts on him. DE/OLB..... iwould love him as an OLB for the future, or DE when we need a pass rush. lets draft him

THOUGHTS??????
