Linehan likes AJ

AJ will win the job because he has the talent to do it.
This is a disciplined team with a clear plan and lots of coaching talent.
We have significant improvements in the running game and OL via coaching.
No doubt the Fins will be better and AJ will be their QB.
You guys should go back to this time last year think about the state of the team and what happenned before and during camp.
The kind of stability and talent that Saban has brought to the organization is light years ahead of Wanny and his crew.
This kind of dramatic change was long overdue.
Whoever the QB is will have R&R in the back field chambers mcmichel booker and Boston and a decent OL coach by the best OL coach in the league.
I'm not saying we are Superbowl bound but this ain't no 4 and 12 team.

If QB's are judged on talent then Jeff George would be headed to Canton

Nice way of avoiding the point dude, but of course when you cant argue the point, change the point right? I never said AJ was the favorite to start nor did the thread starter. He said what teh article said, that he was happy with AJ's offseason work and he liked the way he threw and said he had some talent. Where did anyone lie as to what Linehan said? Cant find the lie? Course you cant, cause noone lied, Linehan said it, it is quoted. Me thinks you are the one showing the bias since you are so nervous that AJ might actually win the job. It is you that has issues.

They conveniently left out the fact he is also happy with the work of Gus and Sage, the thread starter, know for being a huge AJ fan, left that part out for some odd reason. Obviously tryinf to mislead fin fans, just correcting him dont have a cow.

I'd like to know how many people here expected Linehan to come out and say that what we saw last year is what he expects of Feeley, and that Feeley- having only started in 16 games since high school- would not succeed in an NFL offense, even one dumbed down to the point where Feeley has one option or throw it away. Who expects a coach to come out and badmouth a player?

Linehand certainly wasn't effusive about any of the QB's. His face didn't light up, he didn't tick off the intangiables any of the QB's have. He also didn't attempt to sell Feeley to the reporters, and through them the fans.

What you want him to say? A.J Feeley sucks? Of course he is not going to put down A.J.

what did you say, i was lost in your sig. :roflmao:

Took me a few minutes just to get the slogan. Then, I kept wondering what he was trying to do, then, why does he fall? I was lost for a few minutes as well :)

What was the thread about? Oh yea, go fins!

oh man for a second i thougt Scott and AJ were dating by the name of the thread
 And to think I thought that there would be no more of that after Jay and Wanny.

Yeah I heard Linehan in that interview: "I really like AJ. He's a cool dude. He has a hot girlfirend. I think I'll see if he shares. I like AJ. He's nice."

:D

Of course Linehan is going to say supportive things of all of his quarterbacks, it's early, TC is still more than a month away. I do think it was a shot in the arm of all of our quarterbacks when Saban did not draft a QB.

Yeah. I read the fact that we didn't draft a QB the same way. Either the coaches think Feeley can improve or they believe Frerotte is good enough in this offense

After listening to Linehan's interview, He realized that AJ is a gifted athlete and in my opinion he wants AJ to be the future of this organization. For all of you Feeley's supporters right here, this is good news and don't worry about the mini-camp, it was a learning curve.....
"In particular, Linehan said he has been impressed with Feeley's offseason work.

``He has really improved, and he has really embraced the system, which is the two things we really wanted him to do in the offseason program. He's certainly got some exceptional talents as far as throwing the ball. He's still young as a quarterback, so he's learning. He has done everything and more that we have asked.''

Must be the "Drunken Master" technique. :goof:

A.J is a pretty boy

I don't care if he's pretty or as ugly as a Manning. Just please let him realize his potential. If he can climb the mountain the team will have a better shot at winning more than with Gus. However Gus is the safer for now decision. Hopefully we can rise above the previous 5 or 6 years of mediocrity.

I personally am optimistic on both counts adamprez. There's no doubt Feeley will improve, and we can't forget that Frerotte has enjoyed some very nice games in this offense in the past. Granted, that was with Randy Moss. However, Chambers, Booker, McMichael, and a healthy and stable Boston are absolutely nothing to sneeze at. We also saw Frerotte have a few nice games for the Lions a few years ago as well, and that was with talent at the skill positions that was inferior to what Miami will put on the field this year.

The only x-factor with Gus is the semi-flame out that he seems to experience after starting 5 or 6 consecutive games. However, assuming Frerotte does begin the season as the starter, a couple of months of solid games from him followed by the entrance of an A.J. Feeley that has had even more time to absorb the offense might not be such a calamity, especially given the strong supporting cast on offense we're expected to have.

Whoever starts, its going to be up to the offensive line to give the QB time. Both Feeley and Frerotte panic in the pocket. The offensive line is going to be the key to how we do on ioffense this year IMO
