Linehan makes me sick

Maybe Linehan doesn't want to admit Gus is doing horrible because Gus is his guy. He obviously brought Gus with him, with all the QB's on the market I doubt Saban would have brought in Gus without Linehan as the OC. Linehan doesn't want to admit that Feeley has outplayed Gus, even though Saban has said so. He also wants the guy who knows his offense the best, so he can have more freedom in calling plays. I am sure they want to win, but it is going to take Linehan more than that to realize Gus isn't working. It will take him getting tired of losing (not trying to be pessimistic, but I don't think we will win more than 1-2 games with Gus at QB).

If linehan is not being objective then that would make me sick also. I am all for the best guys starting and in order for that to happen, coaches need to remain objective and honest. Something that does not seem to be the case with Linehan's opinions of Gus' play.

If Gus had played the last two games the way AJ has played them, I would be ALL for Gus starting. However, Gus didn't show much the last two games. AJ has. Linehan's comments are troubling. Hopefully Saban is more objective and honest about player's performances, I think he is.

Linehan has been right down the middle the whole time. Feeley sucked real bad last time he started. sadly, gus has sucked a little less...

Aj only started one game, and he didn't suck, his receivers let him down...Gus sucks just as much..either one hasn't been impressive...I expected AJ to have growing pains, but not Gus.

At Frerotte's age he is not having growing pains, his play is just a pain to fans.

well you'll be complaining a whole more dealing with what you call growing pains Gus is good enough that he has stuck around in the NFL for several years now lets see where Feely is in the NFL in 2 yrs at best where he is right now back-up I just hope he isn't the Back up here.

I now get the tone in Saban's voice when he speaks about the QB situation. This QB situation is going to be a very good indicator of how things are going to be here. From both press conferences my take is that Saban gave Linehan the benefit of the doubt about starting Gus. I think he took the attitude I know defense and Ill concentrate on defense. For the offense I'll bring a guy in who can run it and who I respect (Linehan). He probably agreed at the beginning that Gus was the way to go. I think though you can tell by how he refers to Gus and AJ the last two weeks that he is getting a little POd with Gus's performance. He doesnt yet want to go against his OC and overrule him this early. But I think you could tell today that he was setting up the override of Linehan if Gus doesnt get his act together. The only thing keeping Gus in the starting role is Linehan and if Gus doesnt improve soon we're going to see what Saban's made of. This is setting up to be the first true test of his coaching reign

Wow! if you know what the tone in Saban's voice is saying, I'll bet the other coaches in the NFL know what he is thinking also. does that mean everyone knows what Saban is thinking? We're in trouble.

I think you guys are jumping to too many conclusions about Gus. It is too early to tell what he will be able to do. It looks to me like a lot of his errant throws are from him anticipating pressure and making hasty decisions, sometimes bad ones. Once he sees that the line will protect him and give him adequate time, I think he will settle in and start throwing more accurately. He clearly has the arm, but i would be suspicious of the line too right now. Let them keep performing like they did against TB and I'll bet he starts playing more relaxed and throwing better passes.

there can always be the slightess possibility that Gus is filling in for Feely until he gets comfortable with the system. once Feely does, he will start.

I think Feely should start next preseason game and if he comes out with another solid performance against a 1st team Defense then I think he earned the spot to start.

IMO Gus is not a very accuratte passer. He overthrew wr's alot in the TB. game.(wide open one's at that)
