...doesn't have his finger on the pulse of his players on offense. In other words he doesn't know what they're feeling. The pass play on 3rd and 2 after we'd driven down the field almost completely on running plays is good evidence of that, as was his imbalance toward the pass up until last week. When the offensive line is smashing guys down the field, they want to KEEP doing that until it's stopped.

Linehan put the game in the hands of ONE guy (Frerotte) instead of letting THE REST OF THE OFFENSE (all the guys blocking plus the running back) win the game. Frerotte hadn't done the work of getting us down the field, yet HE was turned to when it mattered most? How does that make sense?

Compare this with the Chiefs game today against the Raiders. The Chiefs are down 3 and have time for only one play from the Raiders' one yardline. Do they kick a field goal? No! -- because Vermeil has his finger on the pulse of his team and entrusts the strength of it (the running game) to win the game.

THAT's how you build an identity as a team, and Linehan's not doing it for our offense. I'm really not too impressed with him as a coach.

All I ask is the removal of the end around, or double reverse from the play-book for at least the next 5 weeks.

no, his problem is he stinks. In Minnesota he did this all the time which is why they never made a Super Bowl.

He once called a WR option pass with under 2 min left of a tight game which Minny was trailing, and the WR threw an INT and cost Minny a playoff seeding spot. The guy flat out stinks.

BRING BACK KIPPY BROWN! We finally have hte players for his offense.

he needs to chill out and trust the talent at RB in the clutch not the goof QB

I don't understand why on 3rd and 2 in 4 down territory at the 7 we're throwing a 3 yard pass over the middle. BULLDOZE THE LINE like you've been doing the WHOLE DRIVE with Ronnie. Bad playcalling...not Gus' fault.

He cant handle running the football 40 times. Yet Saban said he drafted Ronnie Brown cus he was murder in the fourth quarter. WELL? what fresh hell is this? We have a coordinator who finds a double reverse so friggin neccesary when we were running the ball right down their gullet!!!! Simply Amazing!

The end-around has been an important tool for us all year long and we should continue to use it when it makes sense to use it. But, Linehan forgot one of the most basic rules of the end-around, and that is that you don't use it unless you feel that the defenders are being over-aggressive toward our running backs. They were not, and we ended up running really well with our backs. Therefore, the end-around really isn't needed. The end-around as it has been used in this offense, is a substitute for a more normal running game. When the D is keying on your backs and destroying them in the backfield or tackling them for no gain, you use the end-around to make them pay for overpursuit. Today, we used the end-around when it made no sense to use it.

Linehan's second problem is that he has no objectivity when it comes to Gus Frerotte, his close friend. He calls plays like Frerotte is Dan Marino or Jim Kelly. He SHOULD be calling plays like Gus Frerotte is Jay Fiedler.

finally some sanity. I knew people were going to blame Gus for everything. If anyone with any kind of knowledge of football would clearly see that Sage wont mean jack with one puzzyfooting Scott Linehan at OC!

They are trying to make a trick play a bread and butter play which is crazy.

Frerotte throws a TD to Mcmichael on that play and all these ***hats are saying that Linehan is a genius. Truth is, Frerotte just made the wrong throw, which is the reason that hes been on like 6 different teams.

And Id rather have Wanny as an OC than Kippy Brown.

The problem with the end-around was WHEN he called it. You don't call it when it's 2nd and 7 and you can be 3rd and 17 if the play is stuffed in the backfield. If you do there goes your whole drive. The guy really doesn't seem to have a "big picture" perspective on the game. Throwing 2 bombs on 2nd and 1 and 3rd and 1 last week was more evidence of that -- you don't go 3 and out when your defense is hooked up to oxygen tanks on the sideline. Get the 1st down and throw the bomb on FIRST DOWN if you want to.

Exactly. His one saving grace in Minn is that once or twice a game you could bomb in out there and Moss would come down with it. Then all else is forgotten. Well, you may be able to play like that when you have moss and culpepper, but not here. He nevr ran the ball in Minn because he didn't hev to. Well here he has to, and thank god, we actually can. But we still don't. Unreal. That Atl front for was getting owned in the second half. We could have kept running on all 4 down and we would have been in the endzone. Period!

Every game? Are the Dolphins now a high school team? Enough of the tricks...they don't bring treats.
