I think he stays, the offense is getting into a groove. Frerotte is getting to know his receivers and they're on the same page now... it would be such a setback to bring in another veteran.

I'm indifferent. I love watching all different kinds of offenses and really just want the team to run what suits the players who will be on the field. The Linehan offense isn't that, but we don't have at least a couple of the key players for that offense yet. I'd like to see the team choose a direction and go in it, but I don't really care too much about what that direction is.

Hmmm, let's see.....Chris Chambers first 1000 yrd season and first probowl selection!!! The most O production since Marino's hay days. No more DW's, run, run, swing pass!!! I could go on all night, yeah Love it!! I don't think it's so much Linehan as, it's not Wanny!!! Now imagine a QB that doesn't have to be Peyton or Brady just a good passer thats smart, and we could be the team to beat. I'll say this, finally...we are close.

Just RUN!!

I really can care less about the reverse plays, or other trick plays as long as our bread and butter is to run the ball, we have two studs that we can grind it out with, lets not get all fancy on offense, the big plays will build off of the running game!!!!!!!!!

I like it a lot, and it looks a lot better when we dont fall into a hole early and become one dimensional by being forced to pass

I definitely like it...After having to suffer through the super conservative years of Wanny, it's refreshing to seeing our QBs throw deep. In the beginning of the season, some believed that a vertical passing attack would help CC reach the next level. Look what happened.

i like the offense because it seems QB friendly.

im indifferent because the play design and formations are predictable

i dont like it because it can get pass-heavy

In order for it to be a "setback" from the 30th ranked QB in the league, they would have to be bringing in a half-dead, one-armed veteran.

As to the original question... I sorta don't like it. For the reasons others have broght up, predictability, etc... but for one more:

Linehan often seems to me the other extreme of the terrible, predictable Wanny days. We are still predicitable... just the other way now.

If Linehan smartened up about the trick plays and the situational play-calling... I think I could learn to love it... but not when it's just the other side of the same coin.

that kinda embodies why i'm indifferent about it... i don't think it is run-intensive enough... the motion is dazzling, and the passing routes refreshing; it moves the ball down the field nicely, but it doesn't seem to grind things out enough when it needs to ... i'm knitpicking, certainly.... but, for all their flash, i was never confident that Minnesota was going to do much in the playoffs against good defenses all these years... when the chips were down, they'd pass... pass and pass some more...

i just hope Linehan learns to trust the running game and the weapons he has in the clutch situations that will come... on 3rd-and-4, i want the opponents' defense to be worried about the run... seriously worried about it... not just mildly...

Still can't get over the Gus bashing can you? Whether you want to accept it or not, Gus is finally on the same page as the rest of the offense. In the last 3 weeks, Gus is tied for 6th in the league with passing TD's. Frerotte even left at halftime in one of the games.

As to the topic, I'm still on the fence about Linehan. He doesn't seem to call the right plays at the right time like he's suppose to.

His ranking keeps falling. Now he's 30th.

And if he's finally on the same page, then he should keep getting better, right?

Last week he was 14-30 with an interception and THREE fumbles, two lost, five whole YPA and a long of 23 yards. Rating? 70.3.

I should accept that that's what we get when he's on the same page as his receivers? ok.

And for the record, I have never started a thread to bash Gus. I talk about it as a response to statements others make. I have no grudge or chip.

We may disagree about Gus, but you just summed that up perfectly. I don't have as much problems with the offense in theory as I do in what play he calls when.

Get Directv and actually watch a game. Stats don't tell the whole story

His first fumble was a bad snap when he was in shotgun. Frerotte's next two fumbles were on the same play. The first time it happened Ricky hit it out of his hands, Gus tried to pick it back up and couldn't which counted as a second fumble and a lost fumble.
