This guy blows. First he claims this yesterday:

"Maybe I ain't the guy for them. Maybe they're going a different route with it. All I can do is sit back and do what they're asking of me. My (practice) reps are getting shorter. I don't know what they're trying to say. Nobody has told me my role. Nobody has explained to me what they expect from me this season. So I'm just feeling my way through this myself"

Now he is suspended. All that potential talent and first round pick money wasted.

Thats just sad. This guy really had all the talent in the world. This coupled with not being able to stay healthy.:shakeno: Hey you never know maybe Saban would take a flier on a guy he recruited to Mich. St.;) j/k

I figured he'd be the one to wear out his welcome in Detroit first. IMO he's the least talented of the three. The Lions can go forward with Roy, Mike, & Kevin Johnson.

Really? I think he's more talented than M. Williams. Obviously injuries haven't really allowed him to show the talent I believe he has. This drug thing has probably wore out his welcome like you say. Hey, you never know, maybe the Lions saw it coming.

He has the biggest ego of the three, another reason I thought he would be unhappy & want out.

I'd take Mike's 4.55 speed, great leaping ability, great hands, route running, & toughness over Rogers speed & experience. Roy, Mike, & Kevin Johnson all complement one another. Rogers is too similar to Roy.

if willis mcgahee didn't blow his knee out, detroit would've taken him with the #2 pick that year. too bad for detroit. still, rogers would make a nice complimental receiver, although way overpaid

I was surprised they didnt take Andre Johnson instead of Rogers. Baaaad mistake.

^nah, everyone ranked rogers ahead of andre (except canes fans, of course ;) )
Not everyone. Im not really a Canes fan but Andre was bigger, stronger and just as good an athlete with comparable speed. If Rogers was rated ahead it was of little margin.

hmm i just googled several mock drafts from 2003, and everyone had rogers over johnson, and several people had johnson slipping pretty far, while rogers stayed in the top 5. rogers made a ton of big plays in college, more than johnson, and therefore was considered by and far the best receiver in the draft. i really wouldn't see a problem with taking rogers over johnson in that situation, i just think rogers is a bust due to injuries and now off-the-field problems. as a recevier he has GREAT talent

Looks like everyone in your google search was wrong. Andre is proving to be the better talent on a weekly basis. All im saying is that I thought Johnson was a better choice. Who made you our "Draft guru" anyhow?

Ehh.....forget that last comment. Im tired and going to bed.

This guy is cursed, injuries and now this. I'm beginning to think the Lions were smart for taking other recievers, Rogers certainly is looking like an NFL Failure. Not that he cant play, he just cant stay on the field long enough to play well.

well thats why they took mike williams cause they didn't know if they could rely on rogers... guess they were right...

i think he could be the best of the 3 if he would have stayed healthy those first 2 years and played... but im hearing now he got into the substance abuse program by having a water down urine sample at the combine... im surprised with that hanging over his head he was still taken number 2...
