Lions | Team very likely to draft Thomas

Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports the Detroit Lions are very likely to select Wisconsin OL Joe Thomas if they are unable to trade down in the draft.

I think this is Marvez pure opinion. I think the Lions might very well draft Quinn they are actually the team I most worried about. One thing that is for sure about Millen not is for sure. If he were to pass on Quinn and Cleveland is really interested in aquiring a Veteran QB, I say we offer the ma series of picks and Daunte. By a series of picks I mean our 1st, one of the 2nd, a 6th and a 7th with possibly a pick next year..... Just a thought dont kill me for it.

That is alittle to much I think I think if we just give them Daunte and switch picks in the first and give that one of our seconds that should be good.

Why don't we just send them all our picks?? I'm with giving them DC but not all those picks!

Well, it depends on what you think Daunte is worth right now. I say a 5th rounder. Obviously swapping firsts would be part of the deal (Detroit could probably still get Gaines Adams or Levi Brown that way). A second is probably in order to.

So Daunte, swap firsts, and a second rounder is very reasonable. Getting hung up on a 7th round pick makes no sense if you're willing to make this deal.

dude, is it just me or is Alex Marvez all over the place? I have a feeling he is making things up, and maybe he gets lucky and something sticks.

I think he's right on the money..

If Detroit stays at #2 they will take Thomas; I think they'll trade down though and take the guy they REALLY love in Gaines Adams. TB looks like a good option if Calvin Johnson drops past the Raiders.

I still don't get why they would take Thomas. They have Foster and gave Backus a fat contract. I think they'll take Adams or Quinn (Hopefully Adams).

Yea, just because they NEED an OT doesn't mean they will DRAFT one. Hell, just because they need anyone doesn't mean they will take them, guy is an idiot. I predict Calvin Johnson this year for them (assuming the Raiders don't take him) just because I want to see how pissed everyone gets, including their fans and the TB fans

I truly hope we wouldn't give that much away just to get Quinn.

that tells me that the Lions wont draft Thomas. no team in their right mind is gonna come right out and say who they plan to draft...or give a big hint. they want people to think and offer trades. imagine offering a trade to them in fear they pick Thomas...yet they have no intention to draft him. we lose
