Lions | Six teams looking to trade for No. 2 pick
Tue, 24 Apr 2007 19:19:09 -0700
Adam Schefter, of the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/77/nfl">NFL Network, reports six teams are interested in trading for the No. 2 overall selection in the 2007 NFL Draft. The Detroit Lions currently hold the second pick in the draft.

I HOPE MIAMI IS ONE OF THOSE TEAMS TRYING TO MOVE UP...THEN THEY CAN GET THERE GUY BRADY QUINN....LETS HOPE IT HAPPENS!!

Going up to #2 to get Brady Quinn is just too high. 6 is as high as I want to go to get Quinn and that's exactly what I think will happen. It would be smart to trade down for the Lions.

do u think quinn will last to 6th pick?? if lions stay they could pick quinn...alot of things could happen but u might be right

It's really a toss up on what the Browns do. I personally think they'd be foolish to pass on a talent like Peterson there at the 3rd pick, not to mention they seem to be high on Charlie Frye. Another thing to look at is Romeo Crenel being on the hot seat. Peterson gives them the better chance at winning this season and if Crenel doesn't do that, he won't have another draft.

As for the Lions, I think the should go QB but everyone seems to think that wouldn't be proper value at the #2 spot. Trading down would be their best option but I don't think anyone will move up with them. The teams that want to move up would have to give up way too much. Also note, that Mike Martz covets QB John Beck. That's a guy they could easily scoop up early in round 2.

It makes no sense for any one else to take Quinn and there is no way Miami let's Quinn get away if he survives those top 3 picks. All signs point to Quinn in Miami, but we'll just have to see how it shakes out.

remember...who they would be dealing with. Matt Millen.....not the sharpest individual. I am glad we are not planning on trading up to number two......are we?

lol trade up to 2? I seriously doubt Mueller sells the farm for one pick . . . especially with the loads of potential at QB this year . . . just not worth it . . . I rather them take Beck or Stanton @ 9 . . . if they really want a QB, then give up our whole draft to move up to 2 and snag Quinn.

Trading up that much would kill the rest of our team's goals for this draft and compromises future drafts.
Unless we trade including a player like JT or ZT, there's no cheaper #2 than #9 plus both of our 2nd rounders plus at least a 2nd in next year. But this trade may become as high as #9, #40 in this draft and 1st & 2nd rounds in 2008.

i think quinn drops... i think cleveland is out of the race for him, they'll take jamarcus, adrian peterson, or joe thomas, one of them will be available... and i really dont think the vikings will take quinn... no way the same staff is going to give up on a player they just used a 2nd round pick on so quickly... i think quinn drops into our laps at 9

^^ and where did this "rumor" come from? Because even in teh "rumor" mills I have never heard this. So this is a rumor of a rumor??

And since when are the Browns high on Charlie Frye??? They were last offseason, but due to his play and Derek Andersons play at the end of the year, Anderson has been given as equal a shot as Frye this year to earn the job. Quinn won't make it past Cleveland, sorry.

According to the NFL Draft Value Chart, the #2 pick is worth 2600 points. In order for us to be able to trade up to #2, we'd have to trade our:

1st rd pick (#9)- 1350 points
2nd rd pick (#40)- 500 points
2nd rd pick (#60)- 300 points
3rd rd pick (#71)- 235 points
4th rd pick (#108)- 78 points
6th rd pick (#181)- 19 points
7th rd pick (#199)- 12 points

OK, that only totals 2494 points. Still not enough to trade up to that spot. Does anyone really think that the Dolphins are willing to trade their entire draft for a QB with question marks? It's not happening.

Colin Lindsey at GBN was the first i believe to talk about us trading to 2 for Russell... also a supposed former scout who knows the workings of the lions said the same thing... but again its all rumors...

and im not saying cleveland is sold on Frye, if Jamarcus Russell is there at 3 they will take him, thats been the thought out of their camp for a while now... but they might not be sold on Quinn... the new story out of Cleveland is that they will end up choosing between Joe Thomas and Adrian Peterson if Russell is gone... John Clayton just recently reported it on ESPN as have others

anyway its all talk and rumors that are floating around... but its the latest word

it would cost two first round picks one this year and in 2008 plus both our second's this season to get quinn at 2 i would do it in a heartbeat to secure our franchise qb..the dolphins covert brady quinn that's a fact i'd bet he is # 1 on there board and come this saturday i expect them to be very aggressive in aquiring him.

but he can still be there at 6...because i believe the first 3 picks will look like this...1.raiders russell 2.lions johnson 3.browns peterson........washington needs extra picks and also wants to move down..something tells me on monday we will be singing hail to the redskins....!
