Lions won't pick up option on Nick Fairley

free agent when??? next year??? he's a damn good player can be straight dominant at times but he's got a lot of off the field skeletons and can be a malcontent so i doubt miami would touch him...there's a reason detroits not picking up that option and it's nothing to do with how he plays...that locker room lacks discipline and he's a big part of it in detroit

has the talent to be as good as any dt in the league...serious talent here...stud when he wants to play

Lions won't pick up Fairley option

Lions general manager Martin Mayhew told reporters at the NFL owners' meetings in Orlando, Fla., on Monday that the team would not be picking up its 2015 contract option on Fairley, who was the No. 13 pick of the 2011 draft.

Mayhew told reporters that this is part of a motivational tool for Fairley to play well in 2014.

It's be interesting to see what the market on him would be. As long as we keep Odrick I could be open to him on the DL. Can't imagine Suh is a good influence on him.
