Let him roam and make plays. His speed is nothing special. I know he is a hard worker, but he will get burnt by the faster WR in the league if he is put on the boundary. I think FS would be a much better fit.

I tend to agree not really seeing cb with this guy. Hopefully he can be a special teams star

That's probably a good idea. He's certainly not starting cb material.

This wasn't a pick I cared for.

My only guess is they want to tinker around with him and see what they have, and go from there. Practice squad guy IMO.

I haven't watches any tape of him playng cornerback, but PFF did and what they charted on him is intriguing especially since he plays WR. Also have to realize he probably is a cornerback if not for playng on a team with two top notch college corners.

It's funny that the guys who get paid to do this actually projected him as a corner back but posters on here see it differently. How about wait and see if he can play the position first.

This guy played as well as trae waynes in his final games as a cb. He is a great press corner. Deceptive speed. Guy can play physical corner.

All of our cb's are shrimps. This is a guy who can come in around the goal line and take away jump balls to opposing wide outs. I think they see him as a situation talent.

From what I understand, our defense doesn't really distinguish between FS/SS. There are no free roamers. Both safeties have similar duties, and both safeties have to be stocky hitters who meet 230 lb RBs head-on, at full speed.

I looked at the size, range and ball skills and I thought he looked like he might eventually be a good free safety, too. I realize he played CB in college and the experts list him there. But it just seems to me he has a lot of attributes one might find in a good FS.

Could be groomed as a ballhawking FS with Walt Aitken.
Could definitely be used in red zone to cover the jump ball.

everything I saw with him playing corner was impressive. I don't see him as a safety right now.

Got to love those tweeners...too stiff hipped to play corner in our scheme not physical or sure enough a tackler to play free safety

I'm not really jazzed about the pick. He looks destined for the practice squad. If he somehow works out it will be as a press man corner, which we do not play.

He plays faster than he times and he does have some good tape from a program that has produced good NFL CB's. But he isn't the athlete those guys were. I don't see him having the athleticism needed to work as an off man guy.

So, either he is a poor scheme fit, or he shows some ability and gets pulled off our practice squad by a team that plays press man. In every way I prefer Michael Thomas.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Ajayi and Bobby McCain picks. I'm also happy with the safety. Those 3 guys were all good gets in the 5th round. Well done Hickey and Tannenbaum.

I'm just not sure how this pick works for us. Is he a special teamer? I think I'd prefer Don Jones. Is he a goal like extra DB? Seems unlikely to make the active game day roster if he is that situational.

I'm going to sit back and just watch to see what the plan is with this guy. Because at the moment, I just am not sure what it is.

Dude looks like a WR plain and simple to me I don't care who gets paid to look at him!
