List all the Positive moves Jeff Ireland has made since his arrival to Miami...

Pat White.
Bobby Carpenter.
Mark Colombo.
Asking if Dez's mom is a whore.

dez bryants mom is a whore...Ireland asked what his mother did after Dez said his father was a pimp. Dez said she worked for his dad. The media blew that one way out of proportion.

he brought in the worst street free agent right tackle available...he also was willing to give kyle orton $27 mil over 3 years in trade to come here...if you're gonna call it call it right at least...

Ummm, what about all the players he got right? Yeah, every GM makes mistakes, nobody can be perfect, but he did a darned good job last year.

Ireland didn't have control over the O-line. The Colombo signing was all Sparano. Ireland brought in Reggie, and had a really solid draft.

The BIGGEST move is a non-move, not giving away the farm for Orton.

I am getting so tired of the excuses being made for Ireland, first it was Parcells pulling the strings so we have to forgive the awful decisions made now Sparano is the one who picked players over Ireland's objections? Furthermore these solid drafts that Ireland had are very much unproven. I see a lot of people crowing about this guy and that guy having potential but there are not many sure fire hits on Irelands Resume. His picks are at most middling just like the teams record.

All a gm can do is bring the groceries for the coach. Its the coaches job to make something out of the groceries he gets. I dont think Ireland was planning on Coloumbo to be our starting RT when ge signed him to the vet min. The gm should and doesint make depth chart desitions that is on the coach.

So are you saying you think the Tuna was actually NOT making the decisions when he was here?

Excuses comes to mind for me as well.

Jeff Ireland does a lot of good work for charity

In particular, providing a home for washed-up old Cowboys when they'd be otherwise out on the street

Yes because when other GM's that move from one franchise to another don't do the same thing! Have you seen what Bill Belichick ppl do when they leave home base?

To be fair, we can really only judge him on his time by himself (the last year). On those grounds I think his moves look pretty good. For the most part he seems to select good, smart players who play hard. In Free Agency he was 3 for 4 with Kevin Burnett, Matt Moore and Reggie Bush working out (Colombo was a terrible signing) & 4.5 out of 5 in the draft. The jury's out on Gates. But Charles Clay and Jimmy Wilson are late round steals. I said from the beginning let's give him a chance on his own and see how he does.

Matt Moore
Reggie Bush
Charles Clay
Mike Pouncey
Jimmy Wilson
Daniel Thomas
Kevin Burnett
Brian Dabol
Steve Slaton

Not saying he hasn't made mistakes: 1. Harbaugh debacle 2. Dez Bryant interview 3. Sticking with Henne at first 4. Bringing in Marc Colombo.
But I actually like the make up of our team now. We're tough, we play hard. How many of you recall the Buffalo game where they lost like 12 players to injuries because we banged on them so hard. Opposing coaches don't want to face us any more because we play hard and we're very physical. That is directly due to the talent Ireland has brought in.

I'm not sure how Ireland takes any blame for Ross's actions with Harbaugh.

NOT signing Orton.

thats not a plus for ireland...thats a plus for ross for not letting ireland trade for him and give him a 3 year $27 mil contract like ireland was ready to do...as for you asking me what about the things ireland got right others in this thread did a pretty good job laying his 2011 decisions out on the table...so i didn't bother

We have a talented roster.

And sticking with Henne before switching to Moore was a coaching decision.

I think Ireland has done a good job so far. He has a better track record for evaluating talent than Fisher does.
