List Of Banned Substances

My guess is if Ricky isn't busted for some masking agent then he probably used one of these

If it's something as stupid as ephedrine, then this has to be overturned. It's one thing to ban these substances prior to a game because they can be considered game enhancing, it's another to ban them during the offseason

Recreational drugs are not included but since the story is it isn't pot I'm assuming it isnt a recreational drug and probably one of the diuritics or stimulants

If the NFL didn't mind if it was used in the off-season, wouldn't they have stipulated as much when they created the policy?

Well they're probably not perfect when they do these things. There is always the element of reasonableness built into any agreement.

Your not going to ban a man from making an NFL living for using Sudafed because he has a cold.
 
Some of the things listed really don't help all that much. DHEA ? Come on. That's just sad that they even list that.

I would think that they are very aware and deliberate in the writing of these policies. I don't think pseudoephedrine got on there on accident.

And If Ricky wanted to use sudafed for his cold, it clearly states that all he has to do is get it prescribed by club personnel.
 
I think he was using something to lose weight or clean out his system. It would be absurd if he's banned for a year for that

Almost as absurd as him taking some substance to lose weight, when he knew he was on a strict drug program.
 
Sudafed is the only one that stands out to me. It seems kinda wrong that a guy could be suspended for taking that if he can prove he had a reason to.
 
They put Sudafed there because it can return a false-positive.

The only way you can counter-act a false positive is to provide proof which would be a prescription
