List of cuts that could help us

Chris Thompson CB Jacksonville, a young guy with upside that I'd like to see us take a look at.

Add QB Jeff Smoker - Rams and QB Josh Harris - Browns

Hmmm interesting, both those guy fit the "developmental QB" Saban's looking for.

Harris might be a guy Linehan likes...he's big (in weight, not in height), can scramble, has a cannon arm and a throw first mentality. Still very young at 22.

Smoker is also strong armed and has some talent....I just question his head. I wonder if he REALLY wants it, plus he did have drug issues in the past (what an ironic last name huh?)

Ambrose is a pretty good corner isn't he? I'm guessing he'll draw alot of interest in around the league.

Living in KC, i have gotten to hear, see and read a lot about Amborse. He did not have a good preseason. I really heard nothing good about him. The knowck on him was that he was "old and slow". I really do not see there being much interest in him.

I would stay away from Josh Harris and Jeff Smoker. Both of them are bad news if you ask me.

Wasn't Chris Thompson the guy that got the interception in the Jags game but then later got burnt by Maurice Mann a few times or somethin?

Smoker was suspended then rededicated himself to the Spartans....the result:

He not only re-established himself on the football field, but also away from the game … Smoker was suspended for the last five games of the 2002 season after admitting to a substance abuse problem. He participated in spring drills but was not allowed to compete for the starting job, but the coaching staff saw a player rededicated to the game and gave him one last opportunity to prove that, when he was named the starter prior to the 2003 season opener … He plays his best when the game is on the line and has a knack for making things happen because he remains cool under pressure … He became the first quarterback in MSU history to reach the 3,000-yard passing milestone in a season in 2003 … "Jeff Smoker provided the one building block in the spread offense," coach Smith said. "Jeff gave us an opportunity to win on Saturdays. I'm amazed at what he accomplished as a first-year quarterback in this offensive system. Jeff had an extremely accurate arm and the knack for staying out of trouble. He made throws that gave our receiver an opportunity to catch it or no one else." … In 40 games, he completed 685 of 1,150 passes (60.0 percent) for 8,932 yards, 61 touchdowns and 39 interceptions, breaking the previous school career records of 467 passes completions by Jim Miller (1990-93), 789 pass attempts by Ed Smith (1976-78), 5,809 yards by Dave Yarema (1982-86) and 46 touchdowns by Bill Burke (1996-99) … Also set the MSU all-time record with 8,714 yards in total offense, surpassing the previous mark of 5,556 yards by Ed Smith.

I wouldn't say that he's a bad apple at all. He definitely learned his lesson.

I wouldnt mind seeing us take a look at any of the above. I really liked Shazor coming out of college and I expected him to go no later than the 2nd round, and even thought we'd pick him instead of Roth, but i guess I was wrong along with everyone else.

Middlebrooks deserves a look Ihope that Daniels will start thought he reminds me a lot of Surtain on his first year

did any team claim Britt yet? i htink he be good project for need to adress the o-line

Terrell?????? He stinks.
If I recall, several months ago some Pats fans were on this forum arguing that the Pats would have more talent this season and he was one of the names mentioned. :rofl3: :rofl3:

Smoker is my sister in law's cousin. He has substance abuse problems. Stay away from him.
