Live Blog for July 31st Training Camp

Please, we need a very impressive performance from either Beck or McCown to push Quincy out the window. I don't want him on our team! If we sign Quincy, there's no reason to even post in the depths anymore, as Bills/Jets fans will have every reason to laugh at us. D:

This is just the way Parcels works.

Certain guys he likes, for whatever reasons.

These guys are usually players that end up playing well for Parcels and sometimes no-one else.

As far as Bills and Jets fans: Personally, I feel sorry for both groups. Bills fans have the special distinction of being 0 and 4 in the superbowl - nuf said. And Jets fans - well the Jets are the only non-expansion AFC team to have not made it to the superbowl since the merger and it does not look like its gonna happen anytime soon. The worse possible scenario has taken place there by having that Wanstadt like coach have a winning season early on. That ought to keep them in mediocrity for some years to come.

Hold your head up bro, Quincy Carter may actually be a bit of water in a desert of QB's down in Miami.

Neither Carter nor Glenn are there today. Just a little heads up from the blog. In case you haven't seen it. So as far as today goes, I don't think there is anything to worry about.

Ultimately Beck, McCown, and Henne need to consistantly do better and look very solid. Not just to keep Carter away, but in order to make us a better football team. competition breeds excellence.

Quincy Carter had his tryout like at 1pm or so. It was just a tryout, doesn't involve actually working out with the team.

So far it sounds like more of the same from the QBs...which is to say, better than Sunday, but not necessarily good, yet.

In their defense, Sparano has been plain saying he's trying to make these practices harder than the games.

how does he make the practices harder than games, when most of our opponents will have superior talent and ability? lol

he tries to speed up their decision making by putting a 3 second clock on them in pass plays.

ball must be out of hand. i still think that games will be 10 times more difficult with all the scheming and looks they'll see.

I know. I was just poking fun at our Phins. lol. I think the people who are saying 8-8 or 9-7 may want to take a mulligan right now. I know its just TC, but the qb position is going to kick us in the balls yet again.

I'm rooting for all the QB's. Really I want 1 to be consistantly solid this year. then Next year I hope the Henne can start to turn the corner and play like a Phillip Rivers. Hopefully getting better and becoming a franchise QB.

I agree. I think Henne sits this year ( i hope he does) and hopefully hes ready to go next year. John Beck is NFL backup material IMHO.

so you go into next year with an unknown in henne if he sits and having to decide if matt stafford is your future franchise qb with your top pick instead of being able to concentrate on another position of need. i'd like to see some of henne late if i've got to watch mccown for half the year or more. ugh

why can't we be like some of those other teams who gets an undrafted or late pick guy and he turns into tony romo???

just not our luck i guess.

ya, i dont know. we are no closer now than we were last year to knowing what we have. we know McCown is a clown. so i guess Beck sinks or swims, and if he sinks, it wouldnt hurt i suppose to put Henne in. if he sucks anywhere close to what Beck did last year, then we just have a rerun of this offseason next, with new names.............

god i hate not having a qb lol

Henne finishes about 6 for 10 by my count. Had a nice throw to Fasano on a seam route, but Sean Ryan also has his second drop of the day, and Matthew Mulligan drops one, too.

without the 2 drops Henne was more like 8-10.....which is nice to see. We need one of the two young guys to start really pressing and start making a compition of this thing.
