LJ Shelton or Tom Ashworth?

Recent reports in the Cleveland Plain Dealer have linked us to acquiring left tackle LJ Shelton and reports in the Palm Beach Post have linked Miami to pursuing left tackle Tom Ashworth. I think either one would be an upgrade over Damion McIntosh, who would you all rather take?

we dont need 4 o-line men......if we get shelton or ashworth and pick a few guys up in the draft (one or 2) we'll be fine.

in a dream scenario this is how i would want the fins to do

get brees
get ashworth or shelton
draft CB CB O-line in the 1st 3 rounds....get a WR with some talent in the middle rounds and or get a guy like bruce or givens

We'll get it done somehow. Some of the players we have might turn out to be great like Burger and Carey on the o-line but even if they do step up we need depth.

What about safeties if Schulters gets away? We will need two starting safeties and a CB. If Carey and Burger step up to be the players I think they can we still need two starters. We need someone to take JR's place and a QB. We may have people on the team now that can fill the holes but do you feel comfortable with them from what you've seen? We need people to come in and compete for alot of starting jobs and wasting money where were already strong like WR makes no sense.

The choice would be between a former first rounder Shelton who has been an underachiever and a FA Ashworth who is an overachiever.

Shelton is a massive left tackle, who has just never fully developed.Its posible that HH can get the best out of him.

Ashworth is the reliable type of OL that wont let you down.

I will trust Houcks judgement.He is getting paid big money for it.

Tom Ashworth can play RT, moving Vernon back to the LT position, if coach HH sees this as a better fit.
I think Tom would be a better fit because like I said he can play both positions.

this is a more realistic scenerio and i agree with it
we arent going to sign 4 o line men in fa
we have problems in the secondary big time and that needs to be a major concern along with qb

I like Ashworth more because he is better at pass protection, assuming that Brees does come to Miami, we will need the experience that Ashworth has.
