Locked on Dolphins

@DolphinsTalk Mike > Kyle Crabbs

But I respect both of their work. Crabbs is a little too "glass is always half-full" for my taste, I get it, he has an audience that likes that approach, but it's not for me, if something sucks, I want it addressed. Omar has gotten unreadable anymore with his Gas-lighting, he has to be getting a kick back from the Dolphins to post such delusional drivel all the time

So why not post that info here, right? Why not interact with people who are equally as earnest and worthy of talking to?

That's my only issue with these people who leave to make videos / podcasts instead of posts. Who does it really help? Instead of a group of reasonable and informed people, we get content creators posting daily videos posing as news outlets.

It takes a content creator more time / effort to assemble a video than it does a post and yet all it does is create a video version of that same post which often meanders on for 20+ minutes of rambling.

Just f'in post and stop trying to be a public figure who's putting their face out there to make a few hundred bucks a month. What is it really accomplishing but to stand apart from the community itself?

I honestly don't get how this version of reality is supposed to be better than where things were 10 years ago when forums were filled with more thoughtful people.

I'm jaded. I think communities hold information--not people. Take a person out of a community and their individual insight proves less and less realistic over time...hence these people still have Discord communities and Twitter accounts they use to interact.

It's just someone trying to monetize their posting. Let's not make it anything more than it is.

Like I said, I've seen people flatly take content from places like this and post it in an effort to make money off it. That's a bad look.
Why shouldnt he make money doing what he does? He takes the time and effort to research all of what he talks about and then he produces the video...no reason he shouldnt get paid for doing these videos?!

Thank you for the kind words. I respect anyone who puts together a show and gives an opinion on any platform. It isn't easy these days as the push back (as seen in this thread) can be harsh.

For me, I did write for MiamiDolphins.com for a year or so back a few years ago, but even in that year I was able to go on my own podcast that I owned and be as critical as I wanted about the team and not have to push the company line. The Dolphins were very good in that way. If anyone listened to my shows during those years you know that.

At DolphinsTalk we were up for 2 Podcast Awards this past year. Up for Best Team Podcast and Best Football Podcast (which we made the Final 12 cut and were up against the Kelce brothers, LeBatard Show, Mina Kimes Show, Shannon/Ocho). I think the fact we have gotten that recognition says something about our work.

How people consume their news in 2025 is changing. It used to be sports radio, now its Podcasts and YouTube people. I respect anyone who has a show. Are some better than others, sure. And it is nothing more than personal preference as to who you enjoy listening to. There is no right or wrong answer.

Just my take on this, but I do thank MrChadRico for the kind words.

P.S...for those wanting podcasters/youtube folks to "post on Finheaven more".....I try. Problem is there is always one jerk who then complains about "all your doing is promoting yourself", they turn me into the Mods, and I get my wrist slapped. So it makes it difficult. What I can say is the fine people here at FinHeaven did create 2 sections of this message board for my podcasts and articles from our site, and if more of you went in there and responded to those posts I would interact more and respond and have that back and forth. But there are only so many hours in the day and when my work is restricted to one area, I don't have endless time to navigate the entire message board and jump in multiple threads. So before you throw stones, just know there are 2 sides to EVERY story!

Mike all those nominations were well deserved!

Your shows always keep me entertained. I'm half way through your episode with Dougley about social media in 2025, it's been a cool podcast, something different in this rather boring time of year.

I concur. I watch most of what he produces, and I have no problem with him making money doing this. He puts time and effort into each show so why not get some money for it.

This.

And he’s progressed professionally from it. Significantly. I don’t see what the problem is?

I think Kyle’s ****ing amazing. He’s the best at what he does, IMO.

Mike has a quality program as well, my statement was nothing against Mike and what he does

Hey, can I field this one?

The person you’ve been responding to does very, very little any more than try to detract from this site, mock people for optimism, and try to cause problems.

I’ll personally try to counter the completely trash, poisonous, counterproductive, anti-Dolphins, and generally malodorous posts that particular poster makes until the end of time.

Just 1?

I watched this and understand when he did this podcast, he was not aware of the cuts to Mosiert, Smythe & Fuller. He talked about possible restructures and how the Dolphins could create 25 mil before even touching the contracts of Chubb, Tua or Armstead. He listed needing 6 starters and a quality backup QB and then said they would have 50% more operating capital ( Krabbs hypothetical 25 mil) this FA season as opposed to last season and he said he thinks its doable? 🤦

He didn’t even go into getting the Dolphins cap compliant, paying for their 2025 draft and having funds on the books to operate the 2025 season with the minimum restructure he threw out there (25 mil). I assume his 25 mil comes from restructuring Seiler, Brooks and Brewer but those do not even get him to 25 mil, more like 15 mil. You would have to restructure both Ramsey and Jackson to get you to 25 million before touching the Tua, Chubb and Armstead contracts and that 25 million he bring up, only allows you to be cap compliant, pay for your draft and have some operating money for the 2025 in season moves, forget about paying for 6 FA to fill starting roles before the draft!

He talked about signing 2nd tier offensive and defensive lineman, linebackers and safeties for 4 mil, thats 6 players @ 4 mil each (24 mil total) and if you are paying that type of money to those positions, you are not going to be bringing in 2nd tier type players at that price point. You also have to include a quality backup Qb @ 7 or 8 mil a season. Just those 7 positions gets you to 31 or 32 mil, I guess if you backload or add void years its less up front but strains future cap numbers because your REALISTICALLY looking at doubling the number Krabbs mentioned to 50 mil to get all this done, not the 25 mil he stated in his podcast. It means a combination of Tua, Chubb and Armstead must be restructured!

No way Krabbs hypothetical work without either Post June cutting Chubb and Armstead and restructuring Tua’s almost 19 mil to get this done. You then will have 3 new staring positions to fill and those replacements a LT, OLB and CB wont come cheap, nor will there be much talent available when money is freed up in June!

Krabbs to me, painted a rose colored glasses picture that was not remotely accurate to get to the draft, in order to be picking BPA. Just my opinion.

He was just talking about getting into basic operating shape in that pod cast. In an earlier one he got into detail about creating the $50 million you were talking about which included restructuring Chubb and Tua and cutting Armstead post June 1. I also made a thread about this that explored this in great detail:

Doing soft media outreach for the Dolphins is not a dream of mine. Congrats to him but IMHO it's not a good thing (for anyone but him).

To me, he's now in a position where he's doing more meaningless stuff instead of having a real voice where he could hold an opinion and be critical, where he could say what he thinks instead of doing walk-and-talks with players that last 60 seconds.

Like, I can't relate to giving 2 S's about standing next to someone famous. Perhaps that meant something to him or maybe that was his dream, I don't know? I just know it doesn't resonate with me.

I mean, to me, that's a waste of talent. I'd rather keep that talent on the outside producing actual content that can (at least to some degree) be honest and critical as appropriate.

He lived his dream. Not ours. I'm not looking to quit my job and do what he does. I'm fine.

He's doing promotional stuff now. I don't think the world is made better if more good people are stolen from useful places and put on staff to do team-funded content.

SOrry i should've said he's living HIS dream not A dream. I think very few of us on this site are living OUR dream job. I dont know if he makes as much as me, thats none of any of our business, but if he makes the same as me, i'd gladly trade with him and bullshit with Dan Marino and current and former Dolphins than what i currently do.

Travis has always been more of an aqua colored glasses type guy, even before he was with the fins.

We've had other podcast guys that posted alot on this site that gave their legit insights but they were unbearable tools. So if Kyle doesnt want to post here, then who knows. maybe we arent missing out on anything, maybe we are. If you want doom and gloom just follow any of Miami's actual sports reporters
