Dude is a baller... I'm so glad we picked him up.. I love his hight, speed and throwing ability. I truly believe he is our diamond in the rough!!
Gonna be great things from this kid god forbid if anything happens to Ryan Tannehill.. Lazors Offense will fit him perfectly also.

And that is the extent of Logan's value.

If at any time we have to depend on Logan Thomas this season we will be picking early in next years draft.

The FO is obviously planning for next year's cap...letting Fields and Sturgis go was part of that - trying to save as much as possible so the team can be kept intact as much as possible.

Moore is definitely not in the cards beyond this season. Logan Thomas may be able to be developed into a serviceable long-term backup for RT. He's got this year to sit behind Moore and pick up the system, hopefully next season he can be a #2. The key word here is develop. He's obviously got a live arm, great stature, athletic. But can he read a defense? Can he pick up our system (which he admits is very different for him)? These are the things we'll be trying to determine in the next few weeks.

Good point by oasis with the cap, that didn't even occur to me.

For me it's really simple, Would you rather waste more years, training camp hours, game reps on guys like Moore & Devlin, or would you rather try and develop a QB who with some of the best athletic traits we have ever seen measured by any qb at any time? He literally throws harder than any qb ever.

Thomas's upside is insane, he doesn't need to be a great traditional qb, as our backup, he can throw the ball crazy deep, hand it off, throw your bs bubble screens, hit WRs underneath, and be a major threat to run with it every play. Thomas can easily do those things IMO.

That's more than substantial for a backup, backups rarely run the same full playbook a starter does anyway.

Thomas is better than people are giving him credit for. He's here to be a backup quarterback to be developed and he has the skills to be that. He might be a future star in the league, but most backups aren't.

His purpose here has nothing to do with us depending on him this year. If we're down to our 3rd QB we're entirely ****ed. He's a developmental project who we're keeping on the roster because he wouldn't last on our PS. I don't understand why some of you insist on misunderstanding this. Absolutely Logan Thomas is a ****ty qb... for now. That's not the point of developmental players. If he hits the field at all this year it will only be in unique packages. We have dramatically improved the backup qb talent on this team moving into the future.

He's a long way from ready to help this team, but I love the philosophy of always developing a young prospect with talent just in case you need him....or as an asset to cash in when the right offer comes along.

It's a great way to pick up extra draft picks now and then.

Also....next year is the big cap hit year of Suh's deal....so I think this is Matt Moore's swan song year in Miami.

They are doing smart things preparing for next year... I like it.

Honestly there's so many traits that make up a great QB that aren't physical, and they're arguably the most important. I don't have high hopes for the guy honestly. Teams seem to take a chance on a couple of these toolsy developmental guys, but I can't seem to think of the last one that worked out...

I have little doubt that he could become a better qb than Matt Moore. Look at his game last week against the Broncos and you see potential. He has a strong arm and can also throw with touch when needed. I think he could become what people thought Josh Freeman would be.

Logan Thomas sucks

Yea he sucks so bad out of 1000 players he earned a roster spot on an NFL team. You baffle me with your summary! Somebody saw something in this Kid..

To be fair he made it as a 3rd string developmental project. That certainly doesn't warrant titles of awesome or insane. Hell, Pat White made the roster. In a few weeks if this kid doesn't show that he is getting the system he is gone. Logan Thomas is completely expendable and the FO is just hoping they can develop him into a backup. If not Moore is back at a higher price.

I wonder how many other team's fan pages spend this much time on a 3rd string qb
