LOGIC:
- This is just game 1. half of the league is now 0-1 so what.
- You cannot and will not win any game with 4 turnovers!
- This was an evenly matched game if the turnovers are taken away.
SILVER LINING:
- Our Defense came to play f'n BALL! This was one of the best RB's in the league and a really powerful offense. Our defense brought the heat man. Porter knockin RBs down behind the Line of scrimmage. Jason Taylor getting his Sacks. Crowder in the backfieild. Merling doing serious damage. Sean Smith and Y. Bell coming up with nice plays on good players (bell struggled a little but this is T. Gonzalez guys). If their Offense did not get to start in the red zone 3 or 4 times then this score is much different b/c our D really came to play.
- We know what our Offense can do. If our Defense plays that well everygame than i expect a much better season than projected initially. Our Offense is solid if that O-Line can gel and get their damn heads in the game. After seeing our D though i think we might get dominant eventually. Throw some turnovers our way this game and things change - our D will turn that corner soon.
- The Pat White plays are going to pan out. Watch! The way they used White to throw to Ginn - that is money right there. He had one shot he is a rookie and he overthrew - but let me tell you right now, Ginn cannot be covered down the field period and if white gets his timing right he has a much stronger arm than Penny and Teddy will finally get some big TD's you watch.
- Greg Camarillo, Ted Ginn, Devon Bess, and Brian Hartline are solid enough for me. Say what you will, but each one of these guys had a solid play or 2 today. Hartline got called once again on that interference, the officials are just hazing the kid. Camarillo is my f'n boy and i am getting a jersey. He had that leg catch and then stopped a TD on the fumble. dude has serious heart.
- Ricky Williams has plenty in the tank. This guy could legitimetly be starting.
- we can move the ball and we have some nice tricks up our sleeve. Take away horrid blocking and ginn doesnt get a 1 yard gain b/c he had to salvage 10 lost yards - he gets 12 yards on that reverse. That other trick play to haynos looked nice too. we will confuse defenses this year.
OTHER NOTES:
- Our O-Line needs to seriously step up. I know everyone is trying to play to their own agendas by atributing our poor offensive play to pennys arm, but this just isnt the case. Jake Long got flat pancaked like a scrub on that one sack, he also got beat SEVERAL more times. I still like Jake - but i will concede that the pass protection worries are very real. They did not open run lanes that great - but Dan Henning should have stuck with the run a little more too. We had good runs by Ricky, a good one by Polite and a few by ronnie but we never got to get into a rythim. That holding call on smiley also negated the fasano TD that didnt matter but its proof our O-line was horrible today. anyone who knows football knows the guys in the trenches set the tone. You can only sling out so many deep balls a game - forget all that. Our O-line was on its heels all day that creates momentum, confidence etc for their Defense, and creates rush, haste, and too much urgency for our offense and QB.
- Our offense does not run well when guys are beating our O-line all over the field. Chad needs some time to use his head or he will not play well period. this is the fault of the O-Line.
- The right time to reveal a pat white wildcat play is not on 3rd and 2. in a serious game that is still close.
- Fasano fumbling twice was a huge blow. We should have gone into half time 7-7 and scored a bunch more times. Take away the first fumble and chad throws a TD pass i garuntee you instead of an ATL FG.
- NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THE HECK THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!! this was either a "atlanta beats up on a weak dolphins O" OR "if miami stops turner then they will pick appart atlantas weak defense" How bout none of the above??? Atlanta's D stepped up, and so did ours but their O supported them by scoring some points, our O stunk up the field.
- I Think we will beat Indy next week. If our D can shut down the colts and hold them to FG's at the home opener and our O-Line gets a fire under their *** (with sporano i know they will) then we will set things in motion next week.
- I am still very dissappointed n pissed, but we need to be logical and right now i am more encouraged by our Defensive/RB/WR play than crying about our poor o-line play i think these guys will get it together. Also it is tough playing your first game away in a noisy dome. we have several games left this year. Last year we dropped games 1,2,5,6 and still won the east so im not worried yet. Also dont underestimate their coaches. Maybe their Defensive schemes just were real good and they got to us...our line has to play more solid or we'll continue to be exploited.
sucks the jests won, and favre, now we'll hafta hear all week about sanchez being namath, ryan being coach of the year, and favre making a huge statement and comeback.:rolleyes2:
