Logo - Why do we need a helmet at all?

I will go even further and say we need to get rid of the helmet all together. It has got to be one of the stupidest things to have a dolphin wearing a football helmet. Geez!

3. The Dolphins' logo is a classic, so I hate to bring this one up. But what gives with that helmet the dolphin is wearing?
Look at it!
It has an "M" on it. Why isn't the Dolphins' logo on his helmet?
Lemme get this straight. The dolphin in the Miami Dolphins' logo doesn't play for the Miami Dolphins? Apparently he plays for some team that wears an "M" on the side of its helmets. Miami (Ohio), perhaps?
Maybe it's some contractual thing with the dolphin, just as when Michael Jordan covered up the Reebok logo on his Olympic uniform because Nike was his sponsor. That dolphin has the team over a barrel. If the organization puts pressure on him to change his helmet, he could just threaten to take his business elsewhere. Good luck finding another football-playing dolphin, Buffett & Co.
In all seriousness, this is a shame for one of the sport's most storied franchises. The Dolphins may be the only team in league history with an undefeated season, but thanks to that logo, they're far from unblemished.

Awful article and horrible post in my opinion. The helmet is awesome! Not every logo has to be a snarling animal holding a weapon or what ever. What makes our logo great is because it is unique. As far as the M on the helmet, whats supposed to be on there an exact replica of our logo then on the that another even smaller logo and so on and so on....yeah that wouldn't be gay at all? If you don't like the teams traditions and look then be a Jags fan or whatever. A mean looking cat, Wow never seen that before
 
I want a roided up dolphin with abs carrying a shotgun in one fin and the bloody severed heads of Jets,Bills & Pats players in the other. OHHHH YEEEEEEEAAAAHHH!!!

Speaking of horses, do you guys remember the old Bronco's helmet?.....an orange "D" with a bronco horse inside the D. I think what people have to remember is these logos were created in the 1960's...remember the Patriot's old logo of a guy in a Patriot uniform getting ready to snap the football. I think there is a lot to say for tradition, but sometimes you have to modernize and go with the times.

Many people think a Dolphin should have a meaner look on the helmet, but a Dolphins is not going to look like a shark and have rows of sharp teeth, even though Dolphins can easily kill a shark if they choose to do so. I don't see why we evern have to have a logo?....the Browns just have a brown helmet, the Penn State Nittany Lions just have the all white uniforms and helmets with no logo, although they wear the blue tops as well.

I would just prefer the all white uniforms we wore during the Superbowl years, maybe just go with a plain white helmet as well with no logo. Simpler is often better. :up:
 
Could he not figure out the 'M' stands for 'Miami?' I guess i'm not surprised.

I think the helmet makes the logo pop more. Without it would look too bland. But I guess some people are in love with simplistic logos.

Thats why the guy is an idiot. A useless article making an an attempt at satire.

The only thing I would mention.. which isn't logo related, is that I'd like to see more teal jerseys, teal pants combos. Either all white or all teal.. would be kewl.

Not having a logo just shows a lack of creativity, and everybody hates the Browns' uniforms. The original logo is classic and has a 60's vibe to it. When they tried to update it in '97, it was an epic fail IMO.
 
Ive always said that I want to see a retro style uniform with us wearing the M helmet that the dolphin is wearing... I think it would be sweet as hell
