OK so I left my house for work and the Fins were up 14-7... I came back saw the results and like a lot of people I think the first words I said were "well no playoffs this year"

Now I'm not saying we would even do anything in the playoffs, but we're by no means out of the race yet, it couldn't have been much better for us in the AFC outside of us losing (lol).

Jags lose to SF....
Texans lose to Colts
Pitt loses to Balt evening both teams at 6-5...
Patriots lose which means if we beat them next week we're only 1 game back in the east...

remember last year we were 3-5 and somehow managed to make the playoffs... the meltdown at buffalo might smack some sense into our team about closing games and at least compete for a wildcard spot down the stretch.. it happened just last year

The problem is that while we got help from everyone else, we seemingly don't have the ability (or desire) to go out there and take something for ourselves.

Might be one too many injuries to make a push. We lost....

A) Chad Pennington (I love Henne's progress but he's still not what Pennington was last year)
B) Jason Ferguson
C) Ronnie Brown
D) Will Allen
E) Jake Grove
F) Justin Smiley

I mean.... that's just way too many key players. Our rookies and first year starts show promise, but they're only first year starters and it'd be unfair to expect too much from them.

I disagree, the difference is our D is not holding in the second half and especially the 4th Qtr. We went from best to last in points allowed in the 4th Qtr. This is why we have lost games we won last year.

If we could have just beaten the Bills we'd be in great position to talk about the playoffs. But we didn't. Not only does this team not deserve to be in the playoffs, but it's a stretch they'll even be able to win some of these final 5 games to get in. I mean yeah we're still alive, only a game out, which is good. Maybe if some kind of miracle happens and this team pulls it together we can get in, but it's doubtful. I'm still hoping we do, but at the same time realizing that the season was lost in Buffalo to a 3-7 football team and this football team should be ashamed to have let that happen.

it doesn't matter about anyone else when we can't handle our own business. I can't believe we're still alive either, but I fear a very upset and pi$#ed off Patriots team is coming to town.
If we can hold ground on them then count me in as a true believer.

Miami Needs to win out to have a chance at the playoffs, With NE next week, then i believe Tenn (who's on fire and VY is a beast), Texans who Miami somehow can never ever beat and Pittsburgh (regardless of record they are still a good football team). It's going to be very tough.

I just hope we beat the Patsies and the Texans (how are we 0-4 against this team?)

The record is too tough for us to even think about making the playoffs... we needed to beat Buffalo and we didnt... end of story

Theres only one team at 7-4 right now which is denver, a few teams at 6-5 and a group of 5-6 teams... lots of the 6-5 and 5-6 teams are playing eachother down the stretch... the afc wildcard is more open at this time of the year than it's been in a long time...

Our team isn't as bad as everyone on this board thinks..

Saints 38 - Pats 17 lost by 21
Saints 46 - Fins 34 lost by 12
Saints 24 - Jets 10 lost by 14
Saints 27 - Bills 7 lost by 20

They haven't played any other AFC teams..

If you use what looks to be the best team in the league as a measuring stick the Fins came the closest and had the biggest lead on them.. we can play with any team in the league, we were also the closest team in the league to beat 11-0 indy this year, we literally were 1 CATCH away from winning that game.. Doesn't get much closer...

Well, if we do not make the playoffs, sweeping the Jets and splitting with NE would make me feel pretty good going into next season. Losing to the Bills certainly takes some of the sweetness out of that though.

Who says the Dolphins aren't pissed they lost to Buffalo? If it makes that much of a difference, the two teams are even then.

A Split with the Pats would put us right within Division Race since we swept the Jets, just need Buffalo to to beat them 2 weeks after if we can win, long shot but still a small chance if we beat them. Still need to run tables and win all of the next 5 though lol.

if we wouldve beaten buffalo, and beat new england this week, we'd own tie breaker....am I the only one that thinks that this was a trap game, and Miamigot caught looking ahead to next week??

as pissed as the pats are going to be, shouldnt our team also be pretty god damn pissed off? also we r coming home to our home fans, so we have the crowd on our side. i understand the pats will be upset, but miami has every reason to be pretty upset if u ask me.
