Lombardi talks Flynn, Dolphins

We will have the most informed opinions regarding Flynn and Tannehill, thanx to our coach and OC...Manning? In my opinion, case closed. He said he will only play in Indy, and Indy will play (and pay $26 big ones) him ONLY if he´s 100% healthy. Would you compromise your cap for years, for a player coming off an injury which compromises his power and accuracy, and will play no more than 3 years (if he doesn´t aggravate that injury)?? Peyton is one of the ALL TIME greats, no disputing that, but, when young and healthy, and with a VERY familiar cast around him and in his prime, he got them 1 ring. All signs point towards his best years being behind him (and I insist, because of his injury being so delicate).

no, they aren't. Go back and watch the games again.
I know 1 thing flynn and moore have in common. IMO i don't think either is the answer to our qb problem.
again it just my opinion.
here's the thing if philbin decides to take a run at flynn, well then i guess all of us have to trust him. but what if the dolphins don't go after flynn? then what ?
who then becomes the next great hype ?

Why does everyone think we will sign an FA qb AND draft one? Do you not understand cap space? We will not go get two quarterbacks I guarantee you

Well if it's Manning, they will probably get a QB in the draft. You need to get a QB to develop as Manning would only be a short term answer. If it's Flynn, there's no point in drafting a QB.

Manning is a very short team option, which is why I don't want him. If we get him, we have to draft a prospect, and keep Moore for at least a year. With Flynn, we'd likely stay put, then draft a late round guy or sign someone next year to replace Moore, who would likely move on, unless Flynn struggled.

And that precisely is the argument for not pursuing Manning.

If Manning is healthy, I have no problem with the move if we get a QB in the draft to sit behind him and learn. The question is who is there in the draft?

I lean more on getting Flynn as I think in Sherman's offense he can succeed. If Philbin wants him he must see something in Flynn.

Green Bay drafted Brohm and Flynn with Rodgers as the starter. Miami should still draft a QB late, and develop him into something like Green Bay did with the guy who will likely be our starting QB next season.
